Chaplain spec advice?

Hello everyone!

Over the past weeks I have been brainstorming on different specs, Looking up information - Trying to figure out what would be the most effective Skill/Stat combination to use.

I’ve allways liked the idea of battle priest in Ragnarok, But I’d like to take a heavy support role in this game - While still keeping that Battle Priest auto-attack feel with the help of Aspergillum.

I have ended up with the following spec

My stat build will be along the lines of 4 SPR - 1 CON.

Most important thing that I would like to keep the way it is:

15 points in Aspersion & atleast 3 points in Aspergillum. (5 points preferred, less bottles of water to spend/carry) For maximum holy-water sprinkling goodness.

A few questions I have from people who might have actually tested some the Chaplain in-game would be:

Weapon Choice

Deprotect Zone has a Trait that causes “Sword Attacks” to stack up ranks of a debuff - Does this mean I should try to use a sword on my Cleric/Priest/Chaplain?

Armor Choice

Plate for solo play, Cloth for group play? Or should I just stick to one?

No intellect

How hard should I expect leveling to Chaplain to be without this stat? From a solo point of view. ( Worst case scenario :stuck_out_tongue: )

Rank 1 Ressurection vs Rank 2 Ressurection

Im having the itch that Revive is better used as a reactive skill for when you know somebody is going to bite the dust - Because of bad positioning and the like instead of a 125 Second buff.

Should I get rank 2 Ressurection for the +35 Second duration trait - Or should I just keep Ressurect at rank 1 & put the additional point into Revive instead?

Deprotect Zone Rank 5

This will give Deprotect Zone a 14 second duration with a 13 second cooldown - Thus allowing me to keep it up 100% of the time on bigger monsters that might be tanked? -200+ Defense might be a fair bit when doing world bosses/Group content? Would this be worth the points?

Stone Skin Rank 1

Since most of my points will be allocated to spirit this buff should still give a whopping amount of block.

I have pretty much decided on this - But what would people’s reasoning be to put more points into this skill over say, Blessing instead?

Exorcise & Magnus Exorcismus

When I saw that ability name I got stoked, Hoping that it would be like Ragnarok’s Magnus Exorcismus - The Ability description even states “Enormous pillar of Exorcism”. Unfortunately the Enormous pillar only means that it is very tall - But barely covers enough ground to hit more then 2 monsters at once, Its not just about the length!

I decided to completely skip on these abilities.

Krivis

This class seems amazing on a Spirit Chaplain - Zalciai scaling with spirit could be incredibly powerfull in a group with several Physical attackers, And since Archer & Swordman classes appear to be the name of the game at this point I can see this being a very tasty buff to keep up.

And thanks to Daino the group wont end up losing buffs during Deploy Capella.

Cleric 2

For Safety Zone trait, Divine Might & 1 Point in Fade.

Would 1 point in Fade be enough, or does it need a higher up-time to be actually usefull?

Traits/Skill Attributes

Which would you feel this spec should focus on first?

Sorry for the long read,

Have a nice day!

Well when i see ppl come with idea like this. I can only blame IMC for not well done to balance their game.

The skill allocation in this game is not variety it does has kind of the best possible build.

If you are interest there are more than thirty(i think) Topics talking about this and did have your answer.

You should use both before you reach Chaplain to have the weapon vs armor bonuses. After that maybe you are better with the matk of maces…but there are some rare swords that also provide matk.

Later you can do both anyway but I liked Plate armor the most in icbts.

I’m aiming for something like that too… no idea but I think we will be fine…but for sure some things will take more time for us to kill…

I don’t rly agree that revive is a reactive skill. I think that’s to save ppl when you don’t even have time to react… X) …and while that attribute is not that good because it adds some cooldown too… … … I still will get it.

That 14 sec duration you mentioned is actually 19 with the attribute. You can reduce it to at least lvl 3 and put 2 more points on Safety Zone.
Also I’m not sure you need lvl 5 Cure. Lvl 1 is good to have and element attacks and Blessing can give it a bit of damage but I’m still not sure if you need lvl 5 that much.

I’m thinking of that too but I’m not sure yet. Blessing sux too with it’s flat damage so…

Those both suck we can just hope imc will fix it sometime.

I want it too but a lot of ppl would get Plague Doc in their build instead of Krivis or Cleric 2. (Personally I’m not sure my rank 7 one but I will be a Krivis on Rank 6)

I think yes.

I’ll personally go for Krivis for sure, There was the topic where people would add in their class choices - And there appeared to be a whoooole lot of Plague doctors, and very few Krivis. Gots to be unique in some way! :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t know about the duration increase on Deprotection though! thats good to know. I’ve shifted points around a bit -

Now I have 10 Heal 1 Cure. 10 Safety zone 3 Deprot zone 5 Divine might & 1 point into fade.

That might be more effective indeed…

I guess removing 1 point from Revive and putting it into Ressurection for the trait would be worthwhile then.

Thank you for the input ^^
