Chaplain need some help

Hi everyone,
Currently i play int base chaplain , but rank 8 came out look like give a issue. i need a suggestion which route i follow?

cleric c2, priest c3 , chaplain c1, krivis c1, inguisitor c1
this one need use stat reset

cleric c2, priest c3, chaplain c1, X , Taoist

cleric c2, priest c3, chaplain c1, kabbalist c2

hi there
I have some similar doubt. My main is an int chaplain just about to go rank 6.
My original plan was druid2, mostly because carnivory has some nice damage and i could use ST + auto attacks from safety as a filler when on cooldown. But, since druid3 didn’t stole my heart, i’m thinking about changing my build.
In the moment what i have in mind is:
1- Chap > cle2 > Kabbalist > Taoist
2- Chap > druid2> Taoist
3- Chap> cle2> krivis> Taoist

For what i saw and also from some member’s opinions in this forum, kabbalist2 was disapointing. If only Double Chance could multiply all hits from our auto attack, but it doesn’t look that way. Also, in my opinion PD doesn’t look like a good option to chaplains. In my current build i have 0 debuff (but i could take monstrance, exorcise and deprotection zone with some points i had saved…).

I think for both us the best way is go taoist since it seems to have good damage skills for int builds. Inquisitor may be for str / dex builds and we lose a lot from blessings/heal/mass heal if we change for it.

Anyway, good luck and sorry for the bad english :+1:

thanks for reply,
but be taoist also have issue, because we didt take krivis so taoist’s storm calling can’t fully utilized. or give up using storm calling?

I am also experiencing the same dilemma with my INT Chaplain build. Before Rank 8 was introduced, I planned on going for a Druid 2 since it offers decent DPS and Support.

The plan was already concrete for me at that time until the Rank 8 news were announced and just earlier this day I saw this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_WNqsl017I).

I am now stuck on deciding whether I will still pursue Druid 2 or change it to Krivis 2 and then go Taoist. Plaque Doctor is nice but it is more inclined in PVP(which I don’t do PVP that much and often times I play solo). Inquisitor may be an option since most of its skills are Matk and it scales with INT but it’s more intended for PvP and mainly against Wizards.

Well currently I am waiting for a news or an update on this “Miko” class that I am hearing about and see if it would benefit my Chaplain and synergize well with it.

I’m honestly not to sure where chaplains should go atm…

Quite a few other build combo’s are starting to outpace chaplain, and the transform change didn’t do it any favors either. Not to mention the spr nerf to zalciai…

  • Druid2 & Chaplain can still be mixed, But it’s far less optimal then it used to be. ~
Partially because you can use all your skills when transformed now in ktos, but can’t auto attack. So you can’t get both chap auto atk dmg and druid2 transform stat boosts. ~
And druid doesn’t benefit from spr at all, where as chaplain does quite a bit.

  • Plague doctor2 is really good dmg, and can fit into a chaplain build but struggles with the buff limit. Can be solved with daino scrolls though.

  • Taoist + Krivis is really nice dmg, but requires a lot of ranks to deal proper dmg. ~
It’s far better to build specificly for said combo with at least kriv3/taoist or ideally cleric2/krivis3/druid2/taoist for the storm call and eventual hengestone multipliers.

  • Taoist minus krivis seems rather lacking, but does bring some decent pve utility. (aoe fade basically) Dmg is on the low side though, and it is very expensive to use. ~
Creeping death’s movement has me a bit worried too, it’s great for pvp and bosses but i fear vs regular mobs it will simply not hit them often enough.

  • Inquisitor is tempting though, it has nice base dmg and decent pvp viability despite it’s main str/dex scaling. But i have no idea how breaking wheel works with aspergillum, if it works at all.

  • Or go towards a support + dmg build like cleric2/priest3/chaplain/krivis/pd. More pvp friendly, has dmg and anti condition utility. But not amazing dmg either, and incinerate will be hard to inflict on flying targets.

  • Or hope miko is a good fit, kind of like what i’m doing with my sadhu build. Might pay off.

Chaplain is pretty much only good in pvp to give your auto-attacks destructive power. I would recommend Inquisitor to that effect.

Malus is INT-based and it is a ranged attack, which is what Chaplain builds sorely lack in pvp.

Breaking Wheel + God Smash = splash damage that requires no DEX to hit anyone.

Pear of Anguish is obviously great for pvp.

Outside of that…well pve chaplain kinda sucks.

lol, thanks everyone info,
look like really bad now go anywhere also no use.
taiost good dmg but too expensive not really suitable for my 1st char, druid i cant go because im already choose cleric c2 for rank6 be better heal.
kabbalist is my before rank8 plan but now look like if go to c2 maybe more support but less solo( but most my time is solo). now my only option i think go inquisitor or pd
this is my pd route

then this is my inqui

im not sure really need take god smash or not with int base and malus debuff not sure can pandemic or not. im more in pve hope can work out.
