Chaplain, Need Advice on Class Build

I’m new to this game, played about 3 weeks currently a lv 166 Chaplain. I didn’t really care about dps until I started farming up some gear for fun; the equipments end up compensate for my lack of INT because they add magic attack which buff my Aspergillum (?)

It’s been really fun playing chaplain (up to priest c3 it was paintful) and glad I chose SPR because I can do some damage while still able to utilize stone skin and blessing and never have any HP/SP problem, didn’t regret maxing support skills instead of sacrament/aspersion for dps either but feel like continues going support now/continue raising SPR now would be overdoing it

Just wondering would I’ve been better off having some INT? Or more SPR for blessing? I guess it would be depends on my rank 7/8?

so here:

Currently SPR chaplain> cleric C2, (skills build are already support orientated) not sure where to go from there

  • PD C2: This is my original plan but im rethinking it, feel like I’m not enough of a PvP person to be going PD but it was what my friend suggested since im noob (he’s thirsty for a PD but he only plays wizards haha)

  • Krivis C1>Taoist: Daino, Zalciai is great, end with Taoist because of Zaibas

  • Kabbalist (??) : I don’t know a lot about this class, skill kit is confusing, not sure if synthesize well with chaplain

  • Inquisitor: worthless with an spr build (?)

  • cleric C3>PD/Taoist: those heal+divine might :joy:

  • Cleric C3>Krivis: :joy:

im not serious about the last 2 builds but it would be funny, thanks for reading if you did wish yall a nice day

Although I’m sure plenty of people will disagree with me, I play SPR chaplain and went Inquisitor, and regret nothing.

The base dmg values from inquisitor are high, and unless you’re building for crit, the stat scaling you’d receive from going something other than SPR isn’t all that much. Breaking wheel will take all of the lines of dmg from Chaplain/Priest buffs, so your Auto Attack on wheel will spread out, and assuming things are underneath the wheel you’ll be doubling your AA dmg.

Meanwhile, Malleus has a somewhat hidden effect that causes things to take more dmg as you hit them once the debuff is applied. This sends the AA dmg even higher, and Malleus provides some safety from magic damage, which later in the game becomes a godsent in Chaplain builds for soloing.

I took Kabba for R7, and I really don’t think it was worth it, but it lets you 7fold pears, which is handy, but relatively lackluster taking a class for 1 skill. Merkabrah will be garbage in SPR, Ein Sof is alright, but not terribly useful.

That’s my 2 cents.

Dont take krivis, buy daino scroll/make krivis pardoner. (my opinion)

PS: Make yourself a 5 Hammer and slot it up with red gems. Chaplain life is much happier with +5 AoE ratio. Or grab some vubbe gloves. But AoE ratio pre-wheel is glorious.

Kabba/PD -> Inquisitor would be the best pick for you in my opinion.

Kabbalist provides damage reflection and increased HP.

Plague Doctor gives you CC immunity, an insane HP regen and another magic skill.

Inquisitor is a godsend as others mentioned.

So now you understand that even support need to be geared and that’s the reason you pick chaplain? A wise reason. Believe me I, used to think like you before and didn’t regret pick chaplain.

and who said that inquisitor is bad with SPR build? sure it’s weaker from INT but hey, SPR is more support oriented and you can DPS as well on top of that.

As for weapon, like beaukromberg said, definitely get five hammer and you’ll satisfy yourself with those lines of damage hitting at least 4 medium mobs
