Chaplain/Exorcist Build Help

Hey all, I have recently started playing ToS and have been enjoying it so much! I was looking at all of the classes and the exorcist is the definition of my favorite class from other games, and I would love to try it out here. I have been looking at the different classes and online builds and have decided that I would like to go Chaplain for the extra holy damage with Exorcise, Sacrament and Aspergillum. But I am struggling to find a good filler class to get to Rank 8. Here’s my plan so far:

Cleric > Priest > Priest > Priest > Chaplain > X > X > Exorcist > Exorcist

I was looking at the Sadhu and it looks super fun, I really like the concept as fighting out of my body. But I had some concerns and questions that I can’t find the answers to.

  1. Is the spirit in Out of Body Invulnerable? Only the body can take damage right?
  2. I’ve read that sacrament will work during Out of Body but blessing won’t. Will Aspergillum?
  3. It appears that the body can still cast other class skills while using Out of Body, If I cast rubric while using Out of Body, will the beam fire in the direction of the spirit?
  4. I want to take Sadhu for the Out of Body aspect of the class, is Out of Body really just bad overall?

I was wondering what class you all would think would be a better filler.

My other question is how should I do stat distribution?

Exorcist would require a lot of Int, but would that really work well with the priest/chaplain abilities and focus on auto-attacks?

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi. Welcome to Tree of Savior.

I’ve read all there is to it about Chaplain and believe I can give my educated opinion on the theme.

About Sadhu, this class is good as a base for any DPS-oriented builds due to Transmit Prana giving additional psychokinesis attack to magic attacks. However the real value come from only Transmit Prana, Astral Body Explosion, and Possession.

Blessing doesn’t affect OOB but other elemental property attacks do. This has been like this since the dawn of time. It’s buffed with Transmit Prana, though, so it’s not like it’s complete trash. Whatever skills you use while being OOB will fire in the direction of your body.

Now moving on to Chaplain. This is a sensitive issue here…

All in all, if you plan to just whack things to death, you go spr to maximize Blessing & Sacrament damages. If you plan to use skills in conjunction to auto attack, you go int and rely on Pardoner buff.

People generally feel they have no time to AA anymore once they got their hands on Rubric. Their DPS rotation is complete with only one class. Aqua Benedicta, Rubric, etc–dead enemies.

That’s why people generally look for classes that can enhance Exo’s damage instead of randomly choosing it just because it destroy things.

Unless of course that’s your intention.

Otherwise Exo is ideally paired with Sadhu 3 and Krivis 3 for sweet TP & Aukuras ‘Goddess of Fire’ combo. This is a heavy DPS build. Go Cleric 2-Exo 2 for decent support, or just go straight to Exo 3. Those non-Clerics can drink their potions.

IF you’re dead set on Chaplain, I say Exo is great for yours as it is for any other builds. You might want to grab Cleric 2-PD 1 for good healing & bloodletting. Cleric 2 is, sadly, still the bare minimum in order to really keep your team alive. Unless you have other means of healing.

There’s also Krivis 3 Inquisitor 1 for pure AA build.

well, there is the quadruple M.E. hidden sinnergy, which is not strong enough to build around but still a nice added sinnergy, also, as i said in some other topic. if he is dead set on chaplainxorcist he can always go inq1 on rank 10 to have some use of aspergillum by inquisitor burn delivery.

as for his topic. on MY chapxorcist i went diev1 pd1. diev1 for cdr, as i will have exorcism and magnum exorcism more often ( got love that animation xD) and faster rubrics i guess (tough only 3 seconds faster haha)? and pd1 for healingfactor and bloodleting. I also tought of cleric2 instead of diev for divine might, but i kind of grown fond of the statues.

tough for a dps perspective, hands down druid 2 is your best option, it gives healing, invulnerability, dmg, more dmg , and transform bennefits ( that rabbit form’s haste is really really good). also, druid2 at ranks 6-7 gives you the druid3-exo2 build path, which should be the fotm cleric dps build. The reason I did not follow this path was surely because class fantasy, don’t feel like my light mage/lightmancer has anything to do with plants/thorns/vines.

Sadhu2 is not worth it. If you dont take Sadhu3 for TP - dont take class at all. OOB in its current state is beyond broken and useless.

Forgot to comment on the sadhu aspect :distinguished:

there is that,

also:

out of body autoatacks are locked while chanelling skills, which is why you can’t AA during posession as well. ( yes they did make a skill that is completely anti-synergetic with anything else in the game). The only reason to even go OoB atm is to use out of body explosion, and that is not even a really good reason :tired:

Praktiri or w/e it is called is a 15% selfheal with attribute. Not worth anyway, better to take C3 for DM, healing power boost and lingering heal attribute.

Thank you all so much for the help. The Idea of a Holy Caster is just something I would love to have made, but it seems like the auto-attack focus of Chaplain and casting focus of Exorcist just don’t mesh that well. I have seen builds and Exorcist + Krivis seem to work very well, so I will focus on that.

One last question though, would Chaplain + Zealot work well? With Monk for Double Punch and Kabbalist for Ein Sof?

Double punch doesn’t count as a basic attack, Monk+Chap has the same problem where the damage skills are mutually exclusive. I think you can do Chaplain+inquisitor+Zealot 2 as a spirit build for blind faith+inq burn+wheel and it’ll work though. Ex: Cleric Priest 3 Chaplain cleric 2 Kabbalist Inquisitor Zealot 2.
