Change character's voice

This is super optional, but I’m sure many players would appreciate something like this.

In PSO2 you can choose your character’s voice and even change their pitch. Yeah I guess I don’t know how hard this is to make it work, but if it is possible it would certainly add more customization to your character.

The majority of people who play mmos like having a very unique character to represent themselves, so I thought this would be nice to have. I dunno, just an idea.

I like your idea :grinning: .

I vouch this idea unless it delays the release date way further than what it is going to be right now. LATE.

This idea is great considering we actually have to listen to the characters voice while playing all the time. I’d probably get a headache if I didn’t like the voice and was “forced” (since we can turn off the game audio) to listen to it while playing the game.

I’m only concerned about how IMC would create more variations of voices without increasing the cost too much since I would assume that hiring voice actors is costly

How hard is it to make this work

  • Probably not very.-
(particularly not the part about having multiple voices, altering the pitch aside)

It’s a reasonable suggestion with no relevant downsides.
Whee.

Well if they only used 2 voice actors (female/male) they could probably have another 2-3 for each gender, and then it would be all especial effects we could set.

Exactly this, totally enjoyable. Still a good thing to have i guess

They already told us in their Dev Blog about the Voice Pack.

Q) There are lots of opinions on the characters’ voices in
one of Japan’s online communities. Do you also localize characters’
voices?
A) The voices in the game right now are all proto-types. Since the
version of the game that we are working on is not the official service
version, even the voices of our developers and designers are included in
the game at the moment, which were done inside our studio’s recording
booth. Of course we will re-work on the voices for the official service
version of the game, and when the localizations are needed, then we will
make so that players will be able to select the voice pack that they
want. It’s like that they can select in-game texts in the language that
they prefer.

Changing your voice… It’s a nice idea ^^

Seems to be an easy task for the devs too, but will it be useful?
Your characters don’t speak (a full sentence). Just Heey Haaa Yaay and skills names.

I like the sound of it :sparkles:

[/quote]Nice, if Brazil gets a localized server I won’t be forced to listen the trash dubs (only Blizzard games do it well here).

They can have like 2-3 for each gender like you said and have more in the cash shop if they decide to implement one in the game.

Agree, would be nice.

IMC pls

I personaly don’t care too much about my own characters voice but it’s nice to hear that all the people who do will get the chance to change theirs.

Awesome stuff that we also can avoid english dubs, personaly think that korean/japanese voice actors are superior to listen to OvO

I’d really like an option where I can switch voice settings to the Japanese version. At least they have their skill names down.

Though, it might get really annoying hearing my skill names a million times. I’d then suggest a slider that determines how often your skill name is called.
