Change character within team using quick hot key?

uhh? just got this idea … please allow us to swap team character easily, something like pressing some buttons (alt + c)?? instead of using character selection function… have to log in and log out…cumbersome tasks

we will get to enjoy unique character play style… because we will get to employ more character skills and come up with different tactics and strategies~

current situation… let’s say u got archer and swordman lvl 200 … at same map… u have to log out and log in to swap your character on a same account using character selection…

under team swapping hot key situation… just by pressing a certain hotkey to change your character within team characters, just like swapping weapon.

oh jesus this is good idea.

So basically what you want is FF14?

What I mean is...

in FF14, you only have 1 character, but that character can be all jobs/classes in the game. You just click a button and you go through a channeling state and open up one of your alternate classes then continue playing as that class. That is actually how you unlock some of the mixed classes anyways.

What if I want to have my entire lodge out playing with me so the game doesn’t feel so lonely and I can queue up for dungeons with my own team?

Interesting idea… hmm I can create 10 chronos, get to swap and pass my team every 3 secs. Having 10 diev3s to get infinite ausrine statues… wow.

He prolly mean 1 character with multi class.

or some what alike the same function.

If there’s 1 character with multi class it would mean there isn’t really a need for class builds then, since they have more builds available on the fly (kind of reminds me of the newest D3 patch where they can change builds with stash iirc). It would definitely encourage more soloing than party since most dpsers will multi class with a healer or support class.

Eg. swordsman running low on hp swap to cleric… drop heal tiles then swap back to swordsman to heal up.

hmm maybe skills of current player disappears once you switch out? that makes it fair ;D

skill disappear once you switch out seems very legit ~ no overpower idea… but interesting and feasible ~

my multi class definition of you when you swap. It will be swap to swords man tree just one character.

Basically you are playing the same toon with multi class manual preset inside

So mabbe like talking to a npc in town or something it will switch out to that build you already did.

Advtanges i can think of is sharing of journal etc etc. Less waste of time of switching charcters all items tied to same inventory

Etc.

Cons. You will still need another main head character to get double inventory or prac redo quest etc.

Ever play PSO2 Flexible builds? Something similar to that just that in this case when you build your toon already. It’s pretty much fix.

A example is i have a toon who has Wizards build inside and a Swordsman

To switch to my swordsman i will just need to trigger the npc or function to swap into swordsman.

Of course this function should have a case where you need to trigger the NPC or something in Safe Zone. Dungeon all this are disabled.

If any one want to do a cross multi build it will require even more extreme balancing lel. Or every one will take clerics as C1 Jumping to XXXXXX lel.

Or GE solo partner system

what’s the point of making overpower character?

ya ya this kind of gameplay is quite interesting…

It is a nice idea though, we just need to polish up the ends so it becomes something worthwhile for IMC to consider and to prevent abuse. IIRC they got consider this during cbt but took it out due to issues, something like a partner system.

Even if the skills effects are gone there are really nice applications which I can think of, like how UMvC3 chain their combos together. Monsters still retain their position even when effects are lost.

Character 1 -> W1>Cryo3>Linker3>X
Character 2-> Archer2>Sapper3>X>Cannoneer2

C1.Joint Penalty > C1.Hangman > Swap > C2.Cannon Blast x2 > Swap > C1.Frost Pillar > C1.Icewall to encase > Swap > C2.broom trap.

ya that’s what in my mind… able to retain certain effects on the mob… but not stacking the effect to make an overpower single character… it still takes time to lvl each character from 1 to 999 in the future… no overpower or defying any team play…u can’t possible lvl up a lvl 200 character on lvl 300 map… so party play is still needed…even with this idea implemented…
basically, when u swap to a lvl 200 character on lvl 300 map… the lvl 200 character does no damage to lvl 300 monster … given the current system… lvl 200 char does no damage on lvl 300 monster.~
in the end, u still have to lvl up each character independently xD
but with an unique feature of able to swap between character like swapping weapon… and enjoy an unique and interesting strategy and tactic…wakaru?

I get what you mean, instead of having a single class build now we have 2 class builds instead and can only swap in towns?

One really great advantage of this is we don’t need to quest again. I’ve rolled over 16 characters and it is really a huge chore to quest again. My last 3 characters actually skipped entire quest lines after Tenet Church all the way to Alemeth.

But in this case is the experience co-shared or gain individually? How about stats and specific gears? If they co-share gears wun swordsman only gloves and boots be a problem?

a fun way to enjoy the game, instead of monotonous lvling process and same content…
given that we have a team of characters from the start…
1 make the boss challenging … and stronger… just like in cbt
2 make the boss fight rewarding
3 each team member considered as a single life force… let’s say an account with 5 characters… 5 life~
4 high risk game play xD… instead of high amount of hp boss… xD
kind of like one piece gameplay…

Yup only gloves and boots will be the issue. Normally in this situation they will automatically strip and unequip for you.

Some functions might be nicer as when you change it will auto swap your preconfigure equipment.

We can also have different stats pages to mix in  . Would be better that way.

Just suggestion lel. Anyway with how “ITOS DEV” or is there is? that handle the cases i doubt it will happen

Sorry my bad, occupational hazard of mine as most of the time in my field I brainstorm for ideas and solutions for my clients.

Having equipment auto swap is great too, we do need such QoL changes to the game. Most of the builds are kind of monotonous currently without much need to swap equipment. Probably they will consider implementing eq swaps after the much needed balancing and optimisation.

Yeah I too doubt it (character swap) will happen anytime soon, not within the span of 2017 anyway. There are just too many things on their plate now to fix and update.

@hayashiyuui

Hai, it is very monotonous currently. Sad to say even the boss fights are just ‘tank and spank’ (just mitigate damage and attack simply) without any form of variance. There are no bosses that make use of the environment, like needing to dps down some orbs to remove the boss immunity… nor challenge the players to learn when to and when not to unleash their full dps.

This is something which they do need to fix. If not it will be like what D3 is like, hard mode is no different from Torment X, just the monsters and boss hit harder and are harder to hit. A play of numbers only.

IMC has yet to balance a single class, they can not even restore GvG, we still currently have the same bugs we have had since April of last year and people continue to “suggest” new random features like this, really?

The devs literally can not even keep the current model of this game running, every single time we get routine maintenance they manage to break atleast 3 new things and people want them to re-design core aspects of the game…can you imagine what kind of chaos would ensue after that.

Too many people make the mistake of thinking that this is World of Warcraft or FFXIV or Path of Exile. IMC can not handle routine maintenance and server resets, to ask them for anything else atm is just insane.
