Just be aware that the insane damage there is largely because of a Barbarian Skill that’s since been removed. Stabbing is still nice though.
About your second build, it mostly looks pretty good except I have to wonder why you got C2 Swordsman. You’d be much, much better off getting Peltasta unless you plan to use a 2H weapon, which that build dosen’t allow for. Also, Concentrate is a pretty useless skill. I’d recommend ditching it unless you have SP to spare.
If you’re gonna PvP I’ll say invest more into pain barrier and get at least one in Long Stride. Hope that helps!
This is a 1h and Shield DPS build, similar to my Relentless Halberdier but I’ve removed skills that are only really useful to PvP and added them to PvE.
Peltasta passives + Finestra will give you lots of block and some evasion too. Use Gung Ho while DPSing and Guardian while tanking. If you wanted, you could invest some more into Guardian out of Rim Blow. Also be aware that Deeds of Valour lowers your defense, so only use it when you aren’t tanking. But it will add a TON of damage when you are just DPS’ing.
Stat build, will be around 75 DEX to max out your crit rate then the rest into either CON or STR. Just remember that most of your tankiness will come from your CON stat investment. You could just add some CON and see how it goes, if you aren’t tanky enough just add some more. Hope that helps!
useful than i think and then put 5point on spam skill(fencer) cuz u can do dmg much when u waiting for new highest burst skill like this (my try to spam burst build)
it hard to leveling alone at first but at last i choose quickly cooldown skill and spam skill for burst dps on limit time when u use all of Highest DMG skill and Buff Skill(Lunge) then i have 10 sec for spam skill Flanconnade. Flanconnade has action time around 2 sec then if i have max(5)at C1 i can make 407x5 to wait a buff skill DMG(Lunge(8sec)) and highest DMG skill(Attaque Coquile (14sec) ) again it can be better DMG more than Sept Etoiles and Esquive Toucher that i calculate from CD and action time
Could you take a look on the builds I posted there?
I really liked your Halberdier build btw, never occurred to me that doppel’s didn’t require 2 hand swords since everyone’s using it with barbarian and highlander builds. I’ll be playing with it for sure.
I was reading this other thread about a dps build which I liked and was hoping you could help me understand.
There was a reply asking why c2 swordsman (im assuming for the passive stun from restrain) and not pick swords c1 》 highland c1 for the +50% crit two hands swords.
I looked down his build and was thinking about it… maybe stun is better because you can take less dmg? Are bosses St unable? Or maybe you take less dmg cuz the crit will kill enemies faster?
Of choosing highlander c1 , what or where would the 5 points go? Wagon wheel?
The reason why I don’t favour Flanconnade is because there is a lot of ways to reduce cooldowns in the game. Centurions reduce them by 50%, Squires give buffs that reduce them, Dievdirbys reduce them by 20%. It really devalues the nature of not having a CD. Not to say that its bad, I just don’t think it’ll be as powerful as other skills.
Also, its weaker than skills like Seism, Cleave, Attack Coquile and Sept Etoiles. Factoring in CDR and you’ll pretty much always have a better skill to use than Flanconnade. And that’s without knowing what powerful skills reside in higher ranks too!
Hey Merlow, I’ve just had a look at your build + rationale. It definitely seems like you really know your stuff. I don’t know all that much about Cataphracts, mainly stuff like riding skills. If you look at the Cataphract skills for instance, they all say you can use them while riding. But earlier skills (such as Stabbing and Pierce) don’t have that clause, so I have no idea if you can even use them while mounted.
Onto your build! (assuming you can use everything while riding)
Ranks into the Hoplite class are really valuable, since 5 Levels in Finestra basically = 50 free DEX and some block to boot. Regarding 1h vs 2h, you do get a lot of defensive benefits from 1h + Shield. If you’re thinking about PvP at all definitely go 1h because the defensive benefits from taking Peltasta are huge. Also, you can upgrade shields to give offensive benefits, so the damage gap is mitigated a bit. If you’re going pure PvE then 2h does offer better damage, but even in that case I would pick Highlander over Swordsman C2 (cause Swordsman C2 isn’t that great)
Anyway, I think you should stick to your 1st build (Swordsman > Peltasta > Hoplite > Cataphract C3). That will give you access to all of the Cataphract skills so you’ll be able to properly gauge if you like the class or not. It is a beta after all!
I hear Synchro Thrusting is a pretty bad skill. The reason I have 1 point in it is because it apparently has an attribute that raises crit chance after a successful counter. Stabbing does seem useless for PvP, it’s just too slow a skill.
I think your stat build should definitely be DEX-based, crits do 1.5x damage and point for point DEX scales better (damage-wise) than STR. Finestra only lowers your evasion by a small amount, don’t even worry about it! If you want to do PvP, CON, if you want to do PvE, STR. You’re pretty much on the right track, at least to the limit of my knowledge!
Hey Hank, I’ve never liked Swordsman C2 because Highlander is so beneficial to 2h Swords and Peltasta is so good for 1h users. I feel like Highlander’s Crit bonus is much more valuable than the stun chance. It’s available all the time compared to 45/120 seconds. As far as I know, bosses can’t be stunned. And yeah you will take less damage if you kill stuff faster XD.
For Highlander C2, I would recommend 5 Wagon Wheel, 5 Cartar Stroke and the rest depending what you want, Crown seems better for PvP but Crossguard seems better for PvE.
Ok hold up, looking at the Barbarian part of that build, I would really recommend grabbing Warcry and investing more into Cleave. Cleave gives a small Crit buff after you use it and does more damage to stunned enemies (Helm Chopper anyone?). Are you after more of a PvP or PvE build? This build seems really PvP focused. I would also prioritize Cleave over Helm Chopper. Not that Helm Chopper is bad, just that Cleave is better. If you’re going for a PvE build I would also swap out Punish for Cyclone. Anyway hope that helps you understand a bit better!
Hey nice post . I want to be an off tank but since the removal of centurion i had to rethink about my classes Swordsman->Peltastax2->Hoplitex2->Centurion.
So i decided to go for a squire.
Is this build viable as an off tank? And huh i’m always lost about stats wich one should i put point in?
And what do you think of this build if you compare it with your relentless halberdier is it able to tank as good or not?
Hey, first of all just keep in mind your ability to tank largely depends on your stats, not your skill build. But even then you’ve picked really good classes for a tank!
Onto your build, If you wanted to invest more into Guardian you can. I only put 1 point into it because I wanted to take advantage of the increased evasion without compromising my damage too much in PvP.
I’m not sure exactly how much you want to tank and how much you want to DPS, so if you want more tankiness, invest heavily in CON. If you want damage, get DEX for crit rate. It’ll also make you more defensive by increasing your evasion! I’m putting around 125 - 150 in CON (rest in DEX) so if you have more than that, you’ll be able to tank better than me
I’m trying to be as tanky as i need to be and be able to dps, i will be supported most of the time by an off healer
clericx2 ->Krievisx2->druid, So he can dps what i can’t as an off tank and he can heal me what i can’t tank as an off tank.
