CCd... By the servers

Hi IMC.

Here we’re going to constructively discuss(Hahaha) a feature of the game that has irritated players for a very long time, but has never properly been given a name.

Getting CCd not by mobs, but by the server.

This occurs during unusual network conditions when a player is trying to use their skills. The game freezes the player in place for 3-5 seconds and completely fails to cast the skill.

This is common enough to be annoying when the server is working properly. Like in the weeks before patch when everything was the usual average.

But, right now under the current high player conditions, it is INFURIATING.

Please eliminate server CC from the game completely. It doesn’t occur in other MMOs, it should not occur at all in tos. Whatever is causing it really needs to be rewritten. In pvp it is the difference between winning and losing. In high level content it is the difference between mobs murdering you or getting murdered themselves. It can not and should not be part of the game.

Thank you.

I am feeling the server strain this week.

Before this, it was sometimes annoying.

But since the update, sometimes the game is frustrating.

Sometimes skills fail to work and I get hit for extra damage.

Love the update. Hate the lag.

Get used to it, unless they remake the client’s netcode from 0 it’ll keep happening.

I see absolutely no way to know that. We do not know what causes this particular issue, it clearly occurs under only certain occasional conditions and worsens when there is heavier server load.

The notable lagfest decreases together with the server pop.
International(lol) ver. wasn’t meant for more than 10k average pop, we already learned that last year.

SA is still a potato tho, even an anime pirating torrent site(nyaapantsu) made by /g/ using google GO on a raspberry pi is laughably better.:joy:

Don’t use pantsu, use nyaa.si. The pantsu people are not good people, and si has been picked up by all the major groups.

/wildly offtopic.

Uhh. Lag, yeah. That thing. Bad. Something something.

Don’t say “We” if it’s you who can not understand and neither you seem to have investigated in the topic.
I know very well what the issue is and how it becomes worse if you’re interested. It’s not a big mystery, it’s a common issue with korean games.

Since the patch its hard to tell where monsters are. Sometimes they stay far away and suddenly i get ported right in them. Or i want to use some AoE and i get ported away from the range.

Most of the forum knows I work in a major international server company. I don’t see you around much so you might’ve missed that, you’re disagreeing with someone that works with and implements these systems at an enterprise level. I’ve worked with EA, Paradox, Ubi, and others.

Please be more careful about who you tell to “investigate in the topic”. I know very clearly what the topic is as I have worked in this category for 12 years.

As I said before, there is absolutely no way for you to know what you’re saying without reading the source for the server executables.

That’s where you’re wrong, kiddo.
