Cataphract late game - Viable/Strong?

So I was planning on going Swordsman 2/Hoplite 1/Cataphract 3 with buffs and the little weight to super boost strength and do a crit build late game. My issue and question is has anyone experienced seen/know about how Cataphract fares late game?

I know every class has its own niche and will be viable and I am not asking “omg whats most op dps” so I can go it but what worries me is Cataphract skills are spear based, which isnt bad but they REQUIRE a spear to use. Not only that but they are based around being mounted, which doesn’t jive well with certain skills.

This worries me because my build is set up for 6 ranks of classes if they add the 7th and first of all my MOUNT and weapon don’t work with a 7th circle class whats the point of going cataphract? Lots of other classes have abilities that can be used with any weapon/don’t have requirements but I worry for cataphract late game.

Another thing with them is they have LONG cooldowns compared to a lot of classes while I don’t think this is too huge a deal as we have some AoE that we can group and use them to max effect, I am worried how this class fares when not grinding/doing bosses.

Anyway lots of questions/concerns here if anyone knows info about how they stand up late game would be nice to hear it. Or just opinions would be fine

Let us discuss all things Cataphract - Mounted Helicopters Unite! :smiling_imp:

I see every classes have 3 circle so you can go for cataphract C2 and C3 :stuck_out_tongue: though only rank 6 available now

Cataphract isnt available till c4

Theyre going to add classes up to 10-11. Plan accordingly.

There should be another mounted class named “Dragoon” based on some cavalry legion that existed a long time ago.

I mean sure but we can’t plan what we don’t know especially if we don’t know how future classes skills with interact. My issue is doesn’t seem like the classes after c6 are multi-weapon friendly right now. So everyone should plan to not pick one of the classes in the game because of that?

Since there will be more classes when Open Beta / Release will be up, there is no need to plan everything now.
For now plan which build you want to do with actual classes and actual patch.

Some classes will be nerfed, some classes will be upped, some classes will completely change, everything can happen before release. Planning something that can’t be planned, because there is an infinite possibilities is just a waste of time and a waste of surprise for when you’ll be abble to play. ^^

Honestly if anything people should be testing game mechanics of classes that interest them to make sure its as good as they envisioned it.

Future classes dont matter for now, I just said it cause OP was freaking out about the 7th classes already ^^

Cataphracts skill damage is quite high. Hoplite is a solid choice to go with it. I’m not too sure about swordsman 2.

But you can’t go wrong with Cataphract if you want high damage, mounted combat, and high movement speed.

I would change going swordsman 2 because the skills in c2 are pretty meh. You could go highlander 1 so you can have more offensive skills or you can go peltesta 1 so your character can be more versatile and defensive (switching from 2H spear to 1H spear and shield if the situation requires to). Also smash buckling is very useful for gathering enemies.

Looks decent.

Cata + peltast + hoplite combo gameplay

The Swordsman 2 was so I could get more gung-ho/concentrate damage other than hoplite I didn’t see any other one that I would prefer over grabbing more to my buffs.

nearly 50lv gap. I think it makes big different :expressionless:

It is, i think the better path is Swordman>Swordman>Hoplite>Cataphract C1~C2~C3

Cataphract is really strong, one of better jobs for AoE
My problem in moment is status.
If you don’t go with full dex, you’ll miss most of your hits (PvP)
And it’s really annoying, because Dex don’t up your skills damage.
I’m Lv 130 now, i have 120 Str, 70 Con and 70 Dex
I miss 70% my hits on Full Dex Characters. Because the 4 pieces of Leather buff very very much the evasion.

I have no dex and don’t miss that much, the most important thing is having gloves with the higher level you can equip to have enough accuracy ^^

not enough to hit a player wearing the right lv. of shoes and right amount of dex.

You have to combo your gloves with your dex.

Yeah and anyway after 30lvl (level 150) i’m starting to lose accuracy a lot again it seems, so i may have to up my dex a little. But i don’t liek the fact that i’ll lose some stats because Dex lower some stats that STR/CON buffs -,- that’s pretty annoying.

it is no good, because savagery and aggressor is no more
