So, is Cataphract with Dragoon good PVE?
Well im currently Sw3-cata3-goon1… I may have a better answer once I get to Goon2.
What I do know is that I have a much better time at PvE than my melee cleric or other foot soldiers… if you look at the BIG PICTURE. Not in terms of getting a golden shiny “1” in your daily siaulai mission because frankly there is no way you can outdps a fencer3 or a pyro with agny against a brain dead immobile boss that simply stand in place as a punching bag or even against a hop3-goon2 because they have the additional pierce debuff if solo.
Thus, I said look at the big picture. The mobility a cata3 have to offer is so good that I feel the compromise for losing a pierce debuff and spammable spearthrow from hoplite is worth it, at least for me… Mobility gives you great tactical advantage, able to reposition yourself easily out of AoE damage and get back into the fight asap. Hell, sometimes I feel like I do a even better job at pulling mobs than a pelt. I can even run around hit everything and aggro stuff before a pelt even get there and use bash3 to push mobs into a pyro’s firewall. Questing and 100% exploration is also much easier.
You will also be kinda ok at PvP if you choose to pvp compared to a hoplite… Oh and no need for weapon swapping to get finestra buff.
I cant wait to get to dragoon2 and check out dethtrone.
It is all about the gear. A catagoon has already cleared ET lv40 so the potential is there.
A catagoon is simply fun. Also you can PvP. I have soloed with my catagoon up to lv293 so far and it has been fun along the way. I accept all duels and challenge anyone i come across on my journeys.
