Im going back and forth with these two, i like their playstyle, love the way i can mount up and still be able to use skills…
but i wana main one.

how well does cata do in lategame compared to sr missions, solo, boss
if u had to pick one, on your team or one you wana make an alt… which class would u make/invite?

will i have fast clears on maps with cata? or i lack dmg but makes up for mobility?
also how strong is sr autoattack, since ik we have few dmg skills… and basically 2 high cd dmg skills
If you want PVE while having PVP you want to go:
Cata: Sword 2 (Stun) - Pelta 1 (Taunt) - Cata 3 (Spin to Win) - Dragoon (Damage)
SR: A1 - Ranger 3 (Burst, AoE) - A2 (Crit) - SR 2
Cata has got more movement speed, you are literally flying through maps with Trot. Your killspeed is also really good but you need to get gear for that.
SR is less gear dependant if you go Ranger until about 200 Levels in and even then it is fine.
Sidenote: Do not forget to feed your pet to get the stat bonus while mounted.
is restrain that good? iirc it can be countered easy also i already have qs on my lv 29…

Restrain is awesome and with Rush even better. Yes it works on skills and especially with multi AoE hits like Spin to Win. Getting sword3 for it is really good but as you want PvE you need the Peltasta Taunt. Then you have an easier time finding parties to grind later and all you need to do is run around, switch to shield, press swash buckling, switch to spear and fight.
Level 29 is absolutely nothing btw.
If I wanted to play a mounted class now I would go for Cata. You get your mount earlier, you are faster (a lot). And if it is your first char your leveling experience is a lot easier as you are really tanky.

pain barrier. loads of enemies have knockdowns.
Take Guardian for the Evasion buff later on (200+). Personally I would go 100 DEX 50 Con first. Then throw everything into STR until 175. Then get 90 CON, upgrade to 150 DEX by Rank 7.
From this point on all you need is STR. Also use green gems in weapons.
As Cata go for Earth Wave first then max Trot. Save points on C1/2 to instantly get Doom Spike and Rush the very last point is the value Impaler for PVP. Done.

No but Gung Ho is also waste. At least 10 Concentrate lasts for a while.
All other skills are completely wasted you will never use these. Stick to this.

For PVP yes.
Keep in mind that no random group wants you in the grind if you bring no taunt. If you have friends then you are probably fine without but as long as you do not have a premade group you will sit around starting at 220.
Restrain = useless
Restrain level 5 PvE = 20%
Restrain level 5 PvP = 10%
In PvP, control bonus is halved
