Cata C1 vs Highlander C1

Good night everybody,

I am considering going cata c1 instead of highlander c1 ONLY for the 40% block penetration and two-handed spears, highlander c1 also seems usefull only for its 50% crit damage but I’m going with low dex and no finestra so it will be useless, with cata I could also use impale in some situations (trot lvl 5 is garbage, I know) + mounting gives a little bit of HP.
Keep in mind that I need to fill a spot in rank 4 with one circle, since I will be going corsair on rank 5, I don’t wanna go with peltasta and rodelero looks useless with one circle.

Please give me some constructive information, thanks .

Low level Trot is underrated and it’s not garbage. Most people say that C1 Cata is ■■■■ because you don’t have your Trot at 100% up time. Well, look at those Barbs loving their Frenzy and Warcry. Mounting gives you a speed boost, Trot just gives you more.

You can use swash buckling with sword + dagger which is pretty nice for corsair.

But if you want to skip peltasta… Let’s see…

As for movement speed (mspd):

Lv 5 trot gives 10 mspd plus a bit extra mspd from mount (I think around 2 or 3?) but no 100% uptime.

The dash you do with swordman also gives 10 mspd, and you can’t dash while riding the dog. The upkeep depends if you’re willing to spend on stamina pots or not and if you did stamina hidden quests.

As for impaler:

It’s nice but only for PvP… PvE you won’t use it except for fun or taxi friends in duel requests…

As for attributes:

Are you sure you can’t find something better than those two classes just for the attributes? I mean… They’re good attributes but… Are they really worth the whole class?

What are you right now? Swordman C3?

I am Swordsman C3 and I will be playing GvG/PvP mainly, forgot to mention it sorry about that.

Honestly I don’t know much about PvP but I’ve heard impaler is pretty nice there. Trot is then actually better than swordman dash cause the swordy dash gets interrupted sometimes when you get hit.

Highlander’s Crown is a killer as well (in PvP). It’s a pretty long CC duration that you should also consider taking.
