Which spells are worth capturing and detonating?
Cleric
Dievdirby statues cannot be detonated/captured.
Zaibas: Detonate
Zaibas hits hard but it’s limited in hits and will disappear very quickly. You don’t want to step on it so detonate it after they cast both (2 overheat).
Safety Zone: Capture and Detonate depends
If the enemy cleric is about to die, blow that sz up. If your teammate is attacking that cleric, blow that SZ for him.
Capture it and use it for yourself and teammates. If he’s a Krivis, he will use zaibas or heal after casting safety zone and you can capture those too.
Heal: Ignore (or capture)
Capture counts each healset as one trap. If the enemy cleric casts 10 heal tiles, the 10 tile counts as one trap. And when you place it, it’ll stack every tile on a single cell. You could use this as a heal bomb or to heal yourself.
Detonate only removes 4 tiles out of the 10. It’s not worth detonating.
Carnivory/Chortasmata: Capture
Capture it and place it towards your base or near the druid. But not on top. The druid will mistake it for theirs and walk into it. It doesn’t change color when you place it and can easily be mistaken for their own.
Healing Factor/Ein Sof/Divine Might/Ground Buffs: ?
It has to be a really good buff worth the 2 minute CD.
Wizard
Fireball cannot be captured or detonated.
Icewall/Firewall: Ignore
Capture only takes a single pike. Detonate only blows up 4 out of 15.
Fire Pillar: Detonate
Easy to see and avoidable. It’s useless.
Frost Cloud and Flame Ground: Capture
These are the best Wizard skills you can capture. They take up big ground space, don’t have a hit limit and last longer than zaibas.
Elementalists are your best friends.
Hail: Detonate
Hail hits very slowly and you don’t get the freezing attribute. Detonate it to get rid of it on the field.
Prominence: Ignore
Lol good luck hitting with it
Stop: Detonate
Detonate this so the enemy can’t setup and allies won’t be trapped. Cryos and Wiz love stop because they can lock you with snowball or sleep. It’s useless for archers because you can’t CC or damage them under stop.
Pole of Agony: ? (testing needed)
Archer
Pavice cannot be captured or detonated.
Broom Trap: Capture
Double broom trap is good area denial. I need to test this more as I just got Sapper C2.
Punji: Capture for fun
When you capture punji, you can target it at someone. So it’s an instant knockdown if you wanted to do that.
Swordie
Jolly Roger: Avoid or Detonate
You don’t want Jolly Roger up as a cloaking scout. It gives the cloak a shadow.
