Can't even launch the game: "There may be a problem with the game. Please install the latest version of DirectX."

Bug Description :

Just today downloaded the game and installed it (or attempted to install it), but whenever I start the launcher, the window freezes at 100%, closes and gives me the error message “There may be a problem with the game. Please install the latest version of DirectX.”

I definitely do have the latest version of DirectX installed, checked that multiple times. I deleted the XML files and verified through Steam. I ran both exes as administrator and I also edited the release.revision.txt file. I tried running it in Windows compatibility mode. Nothing helped.

have you verified the local cache?_?

also, do you have the game on C or D disk

Yes I have, multiple times. It is on C disk. Should I put it on my HDD?

Put it on my HDD, made no difference, same error message. I also opened a support ticket but they’re not helping. Anybody else got an idea? I’m close to reinstalling Windows.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release

^ where my files are located…

if you have already also send a thicket…

I think the only option is wait…

EDIT: there seems to be something wrong with the @Staff feature

\Steam\steamapps\common\TreeOfSavior\release\patch\DirectX10

On the folder above is the DX10 distribution that come with the game, install that and it should fix he issue.

I’m not dumb. I made sure DirectX was actually installed. Anyways I ended up reinstalling Windows 10 and that fixed the issue. Maybe it was some ■■■■■■ up driver issue that didn’t show in any other form, who knows.
