I think it is the companion. It counts as a separate character, so you cannot create one without getting a lodge expansion.

this is wrong! i got 3 chars ? one of them is cata with pet. I cant use cata skill without pet! but i cant just delete him. so i have to pay TPs? thats nonsense… i got starter pack. Token. AND I CANT create 4th char???
