Companions take up a character spot in the lodge, so you’ve already filled out your four slots.
@ArkLumiere is correct.
I guess the bug is that the ‘Create Character’ option still shows up, or that when you try to create a new character it doesn’t better explain that you can’t due to having 3 existing characters + 1 companion.

Both of you are wrong. This bug indeed exist. On Klapedia I have 4 characters, however in Telsiai I can only create a max of 3 characters as I deleted one previously.
