Cannot start the game up

So today (May 22) I tried to start up ToS after not playing for a while. On Steam, the game will open the patcher, start patching for a bit, but then stop responding and automatically close the patcher.

I’ve tried to verify my files on steam, reinstalling the game, restarting my computer, disabling my antivirus and windows defender but nothing has been working.

It’s not an error or anything. It’s literally “client_tox.eve has stopped responding” and it does this EVERY time I open the game :confused:

Does anyone have a potential fix for this? I’ve been wanting to play for the past two days and it’s been giving me a headache to fix.

Not sure if you already did this, but sometimes the patches come with one of the executable files without signature or something that verify its integrity, so i suggest you to put the game folder in your anti-virus exception list.

You can google how to by putting “how to add a folder in my XXXXXX exception list?” (where XXXXXX is your AV name).
