I tried logging in (first time), but on server select I click connect, it tries to connect, then says it cannot connect. Is it due to server traffic, or is this another bug…? (This happens trying to connect to either of the servers.)
When it’s working correctly you should be able to log in. I just did (finally), made my character and team name. It doesn’t show the server queue until after you select the character you’ve made.
For me, verifying the game cache solved my problem.
May I ask how you verified the cache? Right now the only kind of option I see is to connect to one of the servers. And I assume based on your response that it is in fact volume that is preventing me from connecting?
So far server traffic should not stop you from getting in and making a character. It did not stop me. Once you select a character, it will put you in a queue, before that, you should be able to connect. So long as you have the founders pack.
To verify the game cache, in steam right click the game in your list.
Properties -> Local Files (tab) -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache… (button)
I see what you’re saying. No, the issue I’m having is I cannot even get passed the server select. I’m trying to access Klaipeda, so I click on that, and hit connect, but it never does. I did buy early access, but I downloaded and installed the free client first. I’m wondering if maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall post-purchase?
I see. No, you shouldn’t have to. If you are outside the US, I’ve read others having this issue and they used something called Hotspot Shield, a VPN, and got in afterwards?
I see. Well I tried the verify cache thing. Apparently there were 12 unverified files, and restarting the client seems to have fixed that. Still can’t get in, though, and I’m concerned about having to install a VPN just to play a game…
I hear you. I had those same 12 files come up when I did it. Though it worked afterwards for me. I do not have any other suggestions though sorry.

So far I evaluated cache and restarted client, didn’t work.
Uninstalled and reinstalled after verifying I was logged into steam on my account. Didn’t work.
Re-evaluated cache and restarted client, didn’t work again.
Then without doing anything else, I re-re-evaluated, and guess what? Twelve files came back unverified, so that doesn’t even seem to be doing anything, unless there is something other than re-patching I need to do to verify them.
Also Fedimian is up, can’t connect to it either, unsurprisingly.
The Fedimian server is not running yet. It’s also the temporary EU server that eventually players will be switched to the actual EU server later.
Yeah, I did read that. I just wanted to try and see if maybe there might be some difference. Just kind of a test.
Okay, so I relented and ended up getting Hotspot. Of course it worked. Ah well, problem solved I guess. At least I can play
