Heya all, since i want to learn how to properly build a character, im here to ask you if some tips.
Is correct to use this method?
1- Choose the role from Dps Tank or Utility (buff, debuff or heal), or Hybrid of 2 role.
2- Choose a weapon to use in the build, and choose the classes based on the skills or attributes most useful to your role and weapon.
3 - Decide how to spread stats.
Is this method correct? Can someone teach me how to properly decide stats balance for PvE and PvP? I really need help in that sense because i literally dont know if there is soft caps, and how much i have to balance them. Does magical item have a weight in building a character? Thank you all im advance! Ps: i have 104 ms without using wtfast with the accuracy test, i can play all the classes to a decent degree?
Why don’t you take a look at the “class and rank” section? There’s a bunch of guides there. Pick the one you identify yourself most with.
This is not regarding the class choose, instead i want to learn how to properly build a character!
press buttons then post in class section your final decision for the community to criticize it.
#but in the end you will reroll a new character anyways
because there are certain skills you want and certain skills you dont like that people recomended. or other class that took your attention.
well, the game is still under developping and with this system, there are no officially build for anything.
but I can give you some guide based on MMORPG common sense.
- wanna be a tank, go warrior
- wanna go dps, go mage
3, wanna go utilities, go archer - heal = cleric
Check this link: http://www.tosbase.com/ they have everything you want and that’s where I start too.
Since that isn’t a correct way to build your character, I’ll be teaching you how I build my characters.
In order to plan something you need to define a finish line, a clear goal. In our case a level and a role.
For me I prefer to keep things simple, so my role poll is:
- [PVP-DPS]
- [PVP-TANK]
- [PVP-HEALER]
- [PVE-DPS]
- [PVE-TANK]
- [PVE-HEALER]
- [PVE-SUPPORT]
and for level I usually use LVL 200 as default.
Tools:
I’ll use a example to better show my points;
New character = LVL 200 // ROLE [PVE-DPS]
*You can choose whatever first class you want, it comes to preference mostly, keep in mind that certain class tree have more synergy with certain roles.
Starting class: Swordsman.
Option to consider: Weapon of choice? AoE or Single Target? Mob-Farm focus or Boss-Dungeon Focus?
My choices are: 2H Sword, AoE, Farm. ( Let’s say I want to make my first character and I want to get as far as I can as fast as I can )
Now define your major stat.
-
STR = Boost my DPS and Carry capacity, but not very useful besides that.
-
CON = HP is great, HP regen for farm is a must, Carry capacity is fine and it boost block, but we don’t need that.
-
SPR = SP and SP regen is good, but we can’t afford putting many points here or we will end up without DPS.
-
DEX = As a melee character you can’t run from DEX, Hit is a priority, dodge is great and Crit rate is perfect for DPS.
My choice of major stat is DEX, so each 10 LVLs I want at least 6~7 on DEX.
Don’t make a fixed proportion because of the nature of stats growth on TOS and the bonus stats you can gain by putting points on the same stat.
My projection end up as follow:
Now for the weapon, I’ll choose a “End-game” weapon and a “Mid-game” one.
MID:
END:
Last and most fun part, mess around with the skill simulator.
- Find a route of skills that synergize with your end build, but also help you get there.
For my build I need to consider the following classes: HL, BARBARIAN, DOPPEL.
Which skills do I want from each class? My choices were the following:
- I’ll put concentration to good use by increasing “Rendel” dps because of it’s multi hit nature
- War Cry + Deeds + Cyclone = Easy farm.
That’s my method, hope you like it.
See you 03.29
Zoi4friends that was exactly the answer i was searching for, and thats an awesome one. Thank you so much for you precious insight!
You’re welcome! Don’t focus too hard on be the most efficient class, tho.
Try to have fun and enjoy the ride.
I will
Thank you so much @zoi4friends for explaining this the way you did. I’ve been confused for a while on building characters outside of just the skill tree and you explained it beautifully.
