I don’t mind paying $50 now, but I don’t want to pay $50 for a game that lags beyond playable.
- cough * Open Beta plz * cough *
You can have as many days as you want.
After June.
Dude, I can pay $50 no sweat right now, I just don’t want a laggy game for $50
You have to wait for June then.
That’s not how cash grabs work. I feel as though IMC wants us as uninformed as possible when we make our purchase. There’s been a real lack of communication and we know very little about how iToS is going to be handled. As sad as it is, I think the idea is to make you pay.
Technically there’s already 2 betas in the past to let you “test the game”.
I think the art director / BGM director would be heartbroken to see so many players calling their 3 years work a “cash grab”.
To me it is still world class quality art + music, even if the game is pretty incomplete at this point.
Unfortunately, that is what this is. They are trying to charge $50 USD for access to an Open Beta which had no signs of being paid to enter prior. It just came out the blue. They used the community. They purposefully withheld information and cultivated a hype just so they could sucker in some people into shelling out money for a beta.
The art direction is great, the music is nice, but a game is only as good as the business behind it. IMC has pissed off a lot of people and if they don’t attempt to rectify it soon, Tree of Savior is just going to end up like most F2P MMOs on Steam. I want the game to be successful, but they are doing some shady things right now.
omg exactly - finally one of the few “none hateful comments”
Chill Ruby, or else you’ll get this in your PM:
I don’t need to chill. I’m being completely civil. This is proper feedback. Nothing I’ve said is untrue. If IMC finds anything detrimental to their company in my post, then they need to look in the mirror.
Are you actually threatening him with IMC System message? Jesus Christ.
My attempt at lightening the mood failed.
Gomen.
At least draw something fan-art related first, so we’ll have something to remember you by when the agents come and take you away. Preferably a Bokor.
That’s what I said when I realized that you didn’t realize this wasn’t serious.
I’m a little bit on edge now, I apologize.
I could only test in second iCBT (and I assume majority of people is the same) and frankly, the first half of the test is terrible. At peak hours, the server lags constantly, I couldn’t even join channels (not to mention IPF error)
The second half of iCBT gets better, but that’s only because the number of players dropped.
So what I want to know is that whether the server has been improved or not.
Same as you, I really like the art style and music, I am willing to turn the blind eye to all existing issues on glitches and balances because I can see the game potential. But I also want my money well-spent on at least an enjoyable game, not a laggy game.
+1 for you bro.

It’s not going to be laggy. I played the first iCBT and there was a lot less people then in the 2 iCBT. Even if the servers we’re “younger”, there was barely any lag in the first iCBT, similar towards the end of the 2nd iCBT. With only a fraction of the members buying the founder pack, the only thing you have to worry about is being close to a server host location to get a good ping, but you should have an idea if you played during the second CBT.
I was in both 1st & 2nd iCBT. I can tell you the game devs were not expecting a factor larger magnitude of player responses. 30-40k players. The servers were completely overwhelmed. 1st iCBT was lag free.
That’s the why steam sell Soundtracks and Artwork pack…
That raises another issue isn’t it? I definitely don’t want to pay $50 for a solo game
