Can someone inform me on the changes? (I last played in closed beta)

I started playing the game again when I heard some issues were fixed. Leveling seems to be different and there’s this big companion buff ? Is there a link that has a brief explanation on the changes for players coming back? I only reached up to lvl 100 in closed beta, I hope that helps.

Thank you in advance for anyone who responds here (I have seen the other updates but I want to understand the game more since there might be things I may not know yet)

The big pet companion buff is only an event mate… I haven’t played that long myself but leveling untill around 250ish (and if you only play 1) doesn’t seem too hard at all…

you get full exp from -+40 level monsters from your char.
grind is legit now

The changes have been to big for anyone to be able to give you a brief explanation on them.

wow this is amazing thanks

You can’t extract monster gems anymore. You can’t make a buy-in shop anymore. Item Awakening is now RNG.
I don’t know if they fixed the buy-back from NPC feature.

A LOT of classes have changed since then (even how the skills work/what they do).
They’ve completely changed combats, and how weapon/stats/defense/crit affect your damages.
You cannot open shops in town anymore to sell/buy stuff, only specific classes can do it (Alchemist, Enchanter, Appraiser, Pardoner, Squire…).
They’ve added A LOT of quests, so now you can level without even grinding if you hate that. If you like to grind, they increase the range of when you get good/decent exp, so it’s actually better to grind now.

So many things changed, and so much, honestly you better just check the devs’ patchs if you’re really curious about the before/after.
If you last played in CBT, most of the game has changed so you just have to discover a “new” game.

Unlocked’s “325 levels in 12h” was taken during a new player/exp boosting event, so only take his video with a huge grain of salt.
(Tbh I don’t even get why he posts it here since it doesn’t really help… Leveling in normal condition is much different than leveling when you get instances reset and exp boosts from events, obviously.)

Wrong, I leveled another char without exp boosts in a week. You really don’t need exp boosts to get max level in a week or two.

Do you mind listing in summary grinding spots around 270ish and up? That’s just about when we hit rank 8 and things get really slow to level

He is not wrong. Leveling a char in 12 hours is not the same than doing it in “a week or two”.

As he said, it doesn’t really help.

Let me try to give a quick run down on things that changed since CBT2, can’t really remember that much though since I was a cryochrono in CBT2 and their skills pretty much inadequate in cbt2.

The obvious

  • R7 and R8 is released with the level cap now 330. Some classes are gone, like Centurion.

  • UI changes and in game market changes, which are a huge improvement from previous versions of the game. Still can be better. Chat system is more fleshed out.

  • Addition of guilds and TBL, although both are at their infancy stage currently.

  • Addition of a PVE endgame called Earth Tower (or Essential Tavern if you want to call it, since players have to check into it, spent months doing nothing much but it before checking out with some gear, it is home for a significant portion of our community, with no other taverns as end game competitors)

The not so obvious (patch notes in brief)

  • The damage formula is totally changed from CBT2. Gone are the flat damage numbers and each skill damage is replaced with a percentage skill factor which solely takes into account the character’s magic/physical attack. With weapons/equpiment contributing nearing 70% of the overall attack damage than stats, the game’s focus is switched to more of getting good equipment. (aka item grinding type of game now). This is a good thing as most classes now are viable in all levels, with IMC making class balances continually to ensure that the weaker classes are balanced up.

  • There’s a new, additional way of upgrading equipment called Transcendence which boosts the base attack power of the equipment by 20% per level of transcendence.

  • Itemisation is pretty much single tracked and linear after Rank6. Expect nothing but 1 set of gear with no other options from level 270 onwards. Currently until IMC changes/updates itemisation for the higher levels, we wouldn’t get to see interesting gear like Toy Hammer, Wind Runner in the upper levels.

  • Items are totally changed, with all armor pieces with the exception of bracelets, necklaces giving both magic and physical defence. Defensive equipment are split into 3 linear categories with little room for creativity within items which are leather (for damage), cloth (focus on magic def) and plate (focus on physical def).

  • PVP is pretty much unbalanced and in a bad state currently. Guild vs Guilds are removed and expected to be back in once IMC has improved on it. kToS/kTest recently has received a tbl/pvp balance patch at the point of writing, so we can expect to see some updates in a couple of months (timeline hinted from the dev blog).

  • Unlike CBT, the game now splits into 6 servers, with SA taking up a significant portion of the playbase, followed by SEA/Oceania (which splits into 2 servers). Servers are based within their regional continents to have improve ping for the players.

  • There is a monthly subscription model called Token which can be purchased using TP (prices is different depending on server you are in) but they can be bought via in game silver too. Subscription give additional dungeon runs daily, running speed boost and also market commission discounts.

  • Numerous quests are added into the game and there’s some reshuffling of dungeon levels to ensure that the leveling experience is much better for players with lesser to almost no exp walls, which is unlike CBT and founder’s era where most get stuck in the 140s and 160s.

  • Dungeon party finder is much better than before. It is now way easier to find a match with the more relaxed rules of ±30 instead of 10 during the initial starting period.

That’s about all in a brief format. (although it is still quite long :X)

I think your best option is staying with lvl 260 dg and siauliai missions, for grinding you can try inner wall district 8 or kalejimas visiting room.

Map completion now gives only 2 exp cards? Iirc it was 3 before right?

Only 2 cards now, but exploring on one character explores the map on all characters meaning all of the other characters can also get the cards.
