hello everyone, i am new here… and i was wondering… when it’s officially released… can people that already has local provider still joining international server? because my country (indonesia) got the local provider… but… personally i would prefer to join international server… because most of my friends are out of the country… so far all i know that accounts with local provider can’t join the international beta test… but… any words about the policy when official release? I wish they are not like a certain MMORPG that limits their players to joining international server because they already got local provider… any news will be appreciated… thank you very much and i am sorry if this has been asked
From what I’ve seen you won’t be able to do that by normal, legal means. You can still use a good VPN and play in the international… But it’s up to you.
No unless you use proxy/VPN (preffered), and tbh, why would you discard low latency for a high one? I know there are that thing of i have friends outside of my region and what not, but still, well, if at least they did like what blizz did to D3, here on Brazil we got a server so we play separated from the US players, but we can still play together, if i invite someone to play with me, they will be redirected to the BR server, if they invite me i will redirected to the US server.
But i doubt that would work here on ToS since the system is different.
Some of the answers are displeasing, but OP already mentioned he would prefer playing with foreign friends.
Many would say because they hate their countrymen in MMOs. Fairly.
I’m going to say because ToS is nothing new and I want to play it for the community.
(Until it turns out to be really bad or MS2 goes International and my bff invites me to that…)
The fact they haven’t yet (to my knowledge) confirmed that you will not be allowed to play cross-region due to IP blocks is a sign of hope for you.
I actually think there’s a good chance you’ll be fine. (aside from potential lag)
ToS isn’t nearly good, big or profitable enough (yet) for them to turn away players for mediocre reasons like “you have your own local server”.
I think it has less to do with how well a game is profitable and more to do with licensing agreements.
The Indonesian version completely IP blocks the international community more than likely due to licensing agreements.
I don’t think IMC has confirmed that the international version will IP block countries that have licensed ToS, but be prepared for it since it more than likely will happen.
Wouldn’t that be unfortunate.
Not that it’s guaranteed (the IP block) nor is the likelihood of it happening is increased or decreased based on the fact some games have and have not resorted to IP blocks to uphold said licensing agreements.
(it probably is, but not in a way most would ever think to calculate)
It will be blocked, and yes, it does have to do with the licensing terms for each publisher… Besides, they already said sometime ago that countries with local publisher wont be able to play anywhere else but there.
Good point, though I will have some hope for them anyway.
(because of the possibility that no ‘actual’ attempt at restriction will be made beyond the statement itself, as has been done in the past)
Im one of those thats for sure, brazillian players, well not all of them but most, are rude but cant say much since our educational system is a mess.
Now back on topic, im not the same as most is, but the fact a international server cant be accessed by countries that have already a server, not allowing people play with friends made on other games that want to try out something new and fun is kind silly.
Depends if the International server IP blocked you or not. Time will tell.
You may used a third party program to mask your IP but that too may eat up your internet speed. Just to be safe, pick something with 5mbps and above.
