Can I solo this game?

Hello everybody,

I am on the fence with getting this game. It depends if I have to rely on others to progress. So basically: will I have significant disadvantages over those who are in a group/guild or can I go solo and enjoy the “end game” ?

That’s it. Tree of Savior really looks cool.

Enjoy being solo, as there is basically no trading.

Alright, awesome! thanks for your reply! Wasn’t not sure if that was the case with this game since many MMOs punish solo players.

I have only gotten to level 20 so far, so I am hardly a reference for what it is like at end game, but so far everything has definitely been soloable. Some classes definitely have more of a focus on team/group based gameplay though (such as some of the healers and support classes). Though, it certainly makes it easy and convenient for you to find groups, and group play has been quite enjoyable for me so far. I know a lot of the trailers show a lot of group based dungeons and boss fights late game, but I am guessing that there will still be stuff to do solo as well. Ultimately, it seems like it has a lot to offer for both solo and group play.

Yeah, I saw the trailers and it made me think that solo players might have some disadvantages in the end. You see, I prefer to play a game by myself but still be in an MMO context. Diablo 3 was the best compromise between these worlds (single player experience vs MMO context). Same goes for Path of Exile. I am certainly not interested in another “you have to group to clear content X”-experience. MMORPGs are not my type of game so I was afraid this game was on of those.

I really appreciate your thoughts on this and I think I’ll give it a try.

Solo = lvlup slower, kill boss slower, longer time to do quests especially repeatables/requires a lot of killings

Group = lvlup faster, kill boss so much faster, so fast to finish quest

Those are my 3 quick points of disadvantages for playing alone~
It’s definitely a solo-able game but you might get bored grinding alone coz its harder and you see ppl around you doing so well coz they are in party~

If the game is “solo-able” then that’s enough for me to know. Thank you =) .

This sounds like a good compromise though. ‘Slower’ is a fine punishment for solos - as long as they’re doable. Rather than disadvantages for being solo, I see this as advantage for having parties.

I like the ‘faster to finish quest when in a party’ as long as not ‘impossible to solo’, because that means when noone spares you a glance, at least you can do your best on your own.

More boring sure, but better than being brickwalled.

100% Agree with you here.

Some classes are easier to solo than others. IMO the easiest class to solo with from start to finish is a STR monk.

cleric1 -> priest3 -> monk3 is most likely the best solo class.

You are self sufficient with heals and buffs, and can deal high damage with monk abilities.

Getting to Monk 1 isn’t even that bad since your auto-attacks will do high damage, plus you have bless and sacrament to add to your damage.

I gave up my priest during icbt coz I didnt know those buffs effects+cafrisun~ It was boring and slow that time lol~

Also another easy class to solo from start are Highlander>Barb. Highlander very quick in killing boss and barb for pve
