So with the recent trend of demanding B2P instead of F2P I’m now worried about wasting anymore of my valuable time on this game. I already have limited time as is to play but I cannot and will not justify paying for a game that’s also going to have a cash shop in it. (Black Desert Online, pay $30 to get into the game enjoy paying $100s more to get your character looking how you want.)
IMC’s been listening to the very vocal community as of late so I’m legitimately worried they might consider scrapping F2P and going B2P. If that is the case, I’d rather reduce my time playing now because not only are B2P games usually worse then F2P games in terms of content but they will punish you severely for not making additional transactions.
B2P will not reduce RMT by any stretch of the imagination and with how buggy and terrible ToS’s net code is I cannot justify an actual price tag on it.
Paying to get early access, I mean we also got TP for doing so and the first pack also got additional things. The people demanding B2P want this to be a permanent price on the game as well “You get nothing more!” kind of thing. They also think this’ll justify the removal of Token which it won’t, token will probably remain and the cosmetic part of the cash shop will probably become even more expensive(See my earlier example, Black Desert.)
So I’m now concerned about investing more time into Tree of Savior.
Tree of Savior is fine for a FREE TO PLAY game with a cash shop and having the cash shop being ‘helpful’ but not fully necessary is fine. However Terrible optimization, awful reaction time of the staff and bugs galore… It does not need to be a pay to play title.
So I’m now pretty worried about IMC changing their stand on the game being Free to Play to Buy to Play and if that’s the case then odds are we’d have to -rebuy- the game once it officially releases. (Isn’t that how Black Desert worked unless you bought that $60 pack?)
