I admit I was taken aback by the company decision but after giving it a thought, I can somewhat see from their point of view. Founders pack, 3 months of early access, some games applied that before going into open beta mostly to find bugs, improving the game etc. semi-CBT kind of stuff. Or just need to make some big buck at start. This is international server after all (not really, some places are IP blocked).

But having a different server is a minus for me. I prefer having the same server as the f2p, in terms of if they wanted us to explore first just to see any downsides, with some tweaks to the founder pack so it won’t break the game. Cross server is not enough for me still cause friends will be at the other side of the game. I am conflicted whether to play this on March or just wait until June.

In short, I am fine with IMC decisions, money talks after all, that plus with heavy advertising they do (bus, banners, trailers, artwork etc.) I can tell it ain’t cheap. But what I don’t agree with is just the different server and the 3 months for f2p.

Nexon payed for those kToS ads in korea. IMC hasnt produce any ads for iToS.

But im in the same banana. I dont really want to play in a ghost town or where friends wont be in server.

Everyone (or some) will be back sooner or later for the f2p. I’m guessing a lot of raging right now due to lack of communication, how IMC doing things, and high on hype. I can understand that really.

Oh really? Never knew about it. Who knows maybe they will make ads for the iToS too. And also how could I forget about the servers. High ping aside, international server to host thousands of players can be costly. I’m not really sure how much are we talking but back in 2010-2011, hosting 32 players is like around $50-70 (from some Battlefield 2 server).

Who say it is a separate servers that exclusive for those who brought the package?

  • The number of Worlds that will be opened will depend on the number of initial users online.
  • When the game service goes into Free to Play (June 19th), the new worlds MIGHT BE ADDED accordingly.

It doesn’t mean New Worlds will be open for “free to play” players only.

There are 2 options:

  1. Your friend join you in existing server.
    Pro: You have the resource to help your friend, less population and less crowd?
    Con: The ecosystem and market is matured, there won’t be any level race.

  2. You reroll with your friend in new server.
    Pro: You can start fresh with your friend in crowded server
    Con: You wasted your 3 months effort in previous server.

However, it is good that admin come to clarify for this.

problem is can you trade items to your friend? we dont know if we will get the trade disabled same as KR ToS

if i want to help my friend i would do so by giving him/her silvers (in-game currency) for leveling his attributes and buying items in AH.

there are no information given to us on what we can expect once the early access begins.

so we are most likely play an early access blind and will only see if the $50 we pay is good or not based on what we can see in iToS that is different in KR ToS

EDIT: since trading items reduces potential and buying it on AH then giving it to your friend reduces it by 2 potential will be a problem when enhancing it beyond +10 (dont know if that is the safe upgrade since i kind of forgot about it)

Everyone is eager to play this game, but most of us that are eager and can buy the founders pack still won’t because it hurts the community as a whole…

You maybe not a money mcfarts nor a douchebag, but sure you’re selfish and you can’t deny that.

There is no way of looking at the current plan and coming to a positive conclusion. Short term and long term fails and alot of people have said and argued that already. The only choice IMC has atm to please the community is either remove the exlusive access and allow everyone to play and transform the founder packs to something with more exclusive one-time rewards. Or make it at most a 2 week headstart. That is what people are asking for

I’ll be getting ToS founder edition, not because “omg I want an advantage herp derp” but because I love the game and want to play it. 50$ is about the normal release price of a game, I don’t see it as that a big deal, I was probably going to drop that on the cash shop anyway.

The 3 month head-start does seems like a bit much, but games get new players all the time throughout their lifespan, many will join a game much later than 3 months from release and still do fine. If anything even better because of stable economy and making friends with other kind and knowledgeable players or established guilds.

Personally I’d enjoy being able to server transfer, I’ll be buying the founders edition but many of my friends wont, it would be terrible to not be able to play with them just because I wanted the game more than them and had a head start.

But this will not be during a games life, it will be the start. The moment when you consolidate the hype and community and you either do well of fail completly, this current plan is set to fail.

For the same reason why a 3 month headstart seems like a bad idea to you, imagine fully geared max level people popping up on new servers in June. Do you think people will enjoy that?

Hi.

First of all: I would like to buy a founders pack. BUT I dont like the high price of 50usd AND the duration of 3 month. (30usd and 3-4 weeks would be my thing)
So I most certainly not buying that pack as it is now
(It seems they want to rethink the conditions. Maybe a reasonable one will come out)

I like the idea of the server trans. But not like “take all I have and Put it 1:1 on a new server”

I would rather like a wipe of chara level in that founder sever. But keeping my lodge Name and keeping the things from the pack (like TP cloth whatever it will be)
So all can Start at lvl 1 again.
(PLEASE dont bash me for this. It is just MY opinion)

Get the change to start on the New server But with the items from my pack (But just the things I did not use/spend on the other Server.)
So I will be the same lvl 1 “noob” Chara like every body else. With just a few TP/Items more .

I would really like to play now and help to develop the game with my money.
But I dont want to play on an empty server and/or without my "f2p"friends in the long run.

I dont care for level and gear and etc. I am just a women who likes to play games with friends (and sometimes nice strangers) around the world.
I dont want to be the very Best (like no one ever was )
I really dont want to end on an empty Ghost-Server and I rather not spend my money in vain because I have to start in another Server with out the TP/Items I payed for.

Just my humble 2 cents.

I really hope there will be a way to solve all this or at least a solution most of us can live with.

P.s. When you find errors in my Wall of Text : you can keep them,those are free for all.

And because some games that already had settled communities from previous games got back up you think ToS will aswell? That a big hope right there…

If you really think max level people wont have impact on a new server you clearly dont know how MMOs work. If you do want to be more informed on why they will, just go read the insane amount of posts people have already done on this subject.

You also seem to think a company doing a dishonest cash grab is fine and dandy. But who am i to judge your life choices, just dont pretend they are reasonable…

What makes you think you’ll be playing TOS and we ain’t?

Probable they are gonna get a new plan for the Founder Pack and you won’t be happy with that, cause you will have to share the server with us, or you’ll have to wait 90 days as well.

You’re not special because you have 50 USD to spare, you’re so full of yourself it’s disgusting.
