[BUG] Maybe? Weird speed glitch Stabbing/Pain Barrier

Im posting here because I got my key somewhere else and I cannot open a bug report with this account.

While I was killing blue pawndels in sanctuary I came across this glitch.

Was using the stabbing hoplite skill to kill them and sometimes they staggered me so it got interrupted. After that I used pain barrier to solve this and immediately noticed a difference in speed.

The first clip is single mob stabbing skill without pain barrier
Next clip is same mobtype with pain barrier activated.

Last clip plays both together synced to the frame of the stabbing skill activation. (dual sound I didnt bother to turn one off)

Luckily the damage seemed to have been very equal and I kill the pawndel in both cases with the last hit.

In the last clip you will see how much faster the stabbing actually finished with almost 1 WHOLE second earlier.
And one second is pretty big in my opinion.

I need to do more testing on this and other people with other fps and ping and pc specs need to test this aswell.
This might seem like a minor glitch but a glitch is a glitch

No respone no test from someone else yet?

Disappointing

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH… let me try this one on my hoplite and lets see if this thing actually works kekekekke

Edit: nope… tried on mobs same result :frowning:

Whats your pain barrier skill at? Mine is 5

and the stabbing skill is 17 there (Zega spear)

You also need to have along the same fps to see that. Cant be that Im the only one having this glitch.
I am a fencer now using stabbing.

Need to test the skills from fencer most of those are multihits but stabbing is different.

Do you hold your attack button or do you press it fast?

I use a controller and am holding the button.

This is a thing Pain Barrier does related to hitstun.

As odd as it sounds, your own skills inflict a tiny bit of hitstun on you to delay the hits a bit. As most have probably noticed, this hitstun is nonexistant on bosses and a few mobs, letting you chain skills incredibly fast to the point of even cancelling an ongoing skill into the next one (Crosscut into Skyliner on Bleed resistant bosses is so gud)

Pain Barrier sort of mimics the same effect to a lesser extent, and it’s only truly noticeable on longer multihit skills like Stabbing. For my moulinet, it ends about…a whopping 5~10 frames earlier than normal, nothing mindblowing, but it’s definitely a thing.

Unintended use of a skill? The only way to fix this would be to actually seperate hit-induced hitstun from your own attack induced hit-delay (which is also hitstun; likely even runs on the same code)

my pain barrier is at lvl 5 and the stabbing spear is at lvl 10 max (c2 hoplite)
Yes i believe same fps i tried it again in highlander master (where theres a practice dummy to hit)
im using keyboard so i press it fast lel, cant do hold it will stop immediately

It shouldn’t be doing that. Both Keyboard and Mouse controls allow you to just hold it till it finishes.
You dont press anything else while holding it right?

yep, if i hold the button (keyboard mode) it will not continue to attack it will hit 1 and there nothing
nope only one button while doing the stabbing (button smash!)

Wow you have to press it like crazy to make it go? Thats unfortunate, but maybe we are bugged, on the screen the big button pops up mimicking the button presses.

i just realized i have a 6 year old keyboard (samsung pleomax) lel and it still uses a ps/2 slot
