Bug? Cant launch game? Familty sharing bug?

Guys,please,
help! I was playing ToS whe it was closed with Family sharing from
friend account. Now ToS is free for all,but whe i pressed "launch"
button - all what i can see “Checking for Seam games update…” Without
any results like launching game… =__=

PS and game from my friend games lists came to my games list; Plus - if I Rclick on it - i have an option “purchase” … wtf?

PPS deleted game - and now its not in my game list,but…when I come
to ToS page in Steam - i see button “play” not download,plus is says
"this game is in ur game list" and pressing “PLay” button - the same
result - “checking steam games update” and nothing. Why can i just play
this game like I did yesterday?

I really want to continue play my account/hero, so please - help me…

BTW it shows now that today its added to my account as “a part of:
Founder’s Server : Exclusive Access 1” and “you bought this game in
steam” the same today. o.O but i did nothing…

Looks like steam/game thinks that i dont have this game,and i should buy it(wut?freegame?), but at the same time - shows me itself in library? wtf…

Of course it is, you are using his account, create your account to be able to play, you started all wrong in the first place.

Sharing the game list on Steam don’t allow you 2 to play at the same time in the same account.

It was probably your friend who bought it when the game came for Earlier Access.

I can’t say for sure since i never did this, but you are just allowed to play what is installed, if he removed the game from his side or something else you won’t be able to install since his is the main account hub.

Now for the sad part:

You will have to start all over again, or you and your friend can’t play together.

Savefiles bounds to Steam acc. Which means - i can play on friend GAME but progress will be saved for MY steam separated. Game is just a tool)

And time of purchase DLC is…the moment when i tried to enter game after patch. Friend didnt enter steam for a long time,no doubts.
Kinda strange all of this…

So,logically - no reason for even free(!) game to refuse to giving me access to game…looks like just patch/unlocking game in steam for new players “bug”…
=(

Even more - here guy have the problem - but with his own acc,not shared…

This happen because you guys were too eagle to get to the game (by using the family sharing function) before Steam allowed the game to be downloaded.
To fix this:

  1. Exit Steam first!
  2. Go to your Steam folder (probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) and DELETE all folders EXCEPT (DO NOT DELETE) those 3 folders / files:
  • SteamApps
  • userdata
  • Steam.exe
  1. Open Steam with Steam.exe, it will redownload all the necessary files again.
  2. Go to the store, click “Play Game”!
  3. Thanks me!!!

You’re welcome, my roommate faced the same problem so we googled for a good 10 minutes for the fix, nothing too big, lol

This did not work for me :frowning: any other solutions?
