i was thinking on that for a few time.
after the balance every perk on the weapon was improve by the tracended lvl. gems refine and also awake or briquetting. but now the tracendence only is applied to the base damage of the weapon, but also briquetting is aplied to the base damage of the weapon.
so its the only “enhace” who can actually be upgraded by the tracended level and can give +/- 36% of max/min damage. looks nice but the problem is try to get the best RNG. i hope some day the awake stone can use to try it.
untill imc buff the briqueting mechanics. try will be a waste of potential…
As someone that tries to use Briquette every time that its posible, i can say a few things.
1.- This skill needs TOO many resources at maximum level (I mean 315 weapons) to be used, meaning that the cost its too high and the chances of getting a good result are not that “good” 50/50 dont feel fair when you are wasting weapon potential and another weapon to make it work and when the rolls can be even lower than they should…(gona talk about this later)
2.- The RNG its HUGE too, litarly you are gona be praying to RNG Jesus to get a good result.
With that said my personal experiencie with briquette its actually pretty good, however i feel like you need to be smart about when and how much to use this skill, currently i have 2 alts with +11’s and lots of potentital left in wich i have gotten good results, currently a +11 staff that has very close damage to a +13 one and a +11 two handed spear that has almost as much damage as a +12. The reason why i stopped trying to get more damage with Briquettte its because i feel like that its enough and the rest of the potential can be used to try a +16 in the future.
The risk is too high tho, if you dont have enough potential to “fix” when the weapon losses damage then dont even bother with this, the same goes if you are planing to get +16 or higher refines too (unless you are planing to use golden anvils), when you get good results it feels like you are the king of the world, but when they lose damage and multiple times in a row… well, that’s hell incarnate.
Also lets not forget how horrible this skill its with weapons that have MIN-MAX damage, sometimes you will get more damage in the min damage row but lose MAX damage or viceversa, lastly the % that shows in the tooltip its misleading, one might think that a level 1 briquette would make you win or lose 5% of the damage but sometimes the roll goes even lower than that… sometimes you gain 1% or 2%, so there is that.
Im wondering where can we get replica pevordimas weapons, those could be used with briquette. Anyways, if they ever buff the chance to get “good” results alches would become more popular overall, but currently i dont think too much people care about this skill at all, not even for the change appareance thing wich has very dumb restrictions ATM.
Would be cool if other alchemist’s share their experiences with this skill.
If they added an item like the Glowing Awakening Stone that removed the potential loss for Briquetting, I think that would be enough to make it an extremely useful skill. A way to open a Briquetting shop or make it available for party members to use like Item Awakening would also be extremely handy.
In its current state, with the loss of potential and chance to get low or negative rolls, it’s not worth it. I use it to make lower level weapons prettier sometimes if I’m levelling a new alt, but I wouldn’t risk it on a current endgame weapon. It’s just too risky, especially with how expensive it can be to replace the weapon if you screw it up badly.
This would be awesome, and yeah i totally agree with everything that you said.
To this day i hope we get the Saalus Merchant i saw in Ktest / Ktos(?) selling white 315 gear to at least lower the otherwise huge costs of the skill~
So far i can say it’s up to everyone to decide whether to use briquetting or not:
I got lucky with 2 Weapons (1st at 2nd try +84 points and 2nd at 1st try + 97 points)
and was very unlucky with a 3rd (4th try +11 points after getting around -100 the other attempts) making that last one a huge financial loss.
Imo the cost of the required material plays an important roll, since its a big difference paying around 200k or around 800k for a single attempt
im glad to know that im not the only one interested on the briquetting. i hoppe that some day it would be usefull or least not a just wasting of potential.
but by the way i have cheaking some weapons and i notice that a loot of pevordimas weapon have a huge base damage. better than the onepracto weapons. and if its be briqueted usefull will gel almost the same damage than 2 practo weapons for example. pevordimas pike with 12% bonus from briketing have 1778 of max damage and the regard horn pike have 1800 base damage. and thats not the big deal thinking on some pevordime weapòns have over 20 of potential…
i like to flirt with lady luck with my alchemist but i always consider what i will lose in the process before briquetting. for me, it’s best to use this on hg weapons. the fact that they can have higher potentials and the cost for acquiring them is not that much compared to practo weapons makes it a reasonable gamble.
