Bring back the old rank system?

I’m not sure whether anyone remembers this, but back when the korea was in cbt1, there was a stricter rank system.

You were only allowed to choose that rank’s new classes, or to progress with ur current class. E.G. at swordsman rank 4, u were only allowed to progress with cataphract or rodelero, or with the current class. if u were already at swordsman c3, then u were locked into cataphract/rodelero

IMO this system was far better in terms of balancing, and i’m pretty sure the game system was originally designed for this, until everyone decided to vote for the free system(current). I don’t know why they did, but personally i did prefer the old system.

It drives everyone into stricter class builds for sure, and probably does confuse new players since not everyone uses skill simulators, but it answers a lot of build problems.

Why not have an internal skill simulator in game, which excludes hidden classes?

Errr, the one we have now is the original class system, so…no, that strict system wasn’t something they designed for.

I personally like the current class system(gives us more freedom on the path we choose) and stricter class builds are no fun.

If you want a game with strict class paths where you’re stuck in a predictable set of choices then there are plenty of games like that out there. It’s nice to have a few games where you have more control over what type of builds that you have.

New system of free choice is much much MUCH better. Brings more variety/options to suit a persons play style.

All they need to do is balance the dmg per rank and that’s gg.

Why the f*ck should IMC limit people’s fantasy? Classes are mostly designed in a way, that higher rank classes are better then lower rank ones. So if someone chooses lower rank class then he really has a reasons to do so.

Strict system will lower the number of viable classes BY FAR. That’s not what people would approve. Variety is much more important then non existant balance. It’s impossible to make perfect balance unless there is only 1 class.

If something is too strong in certain combination they should nerf this combination, but not remove it. Again, if something is too weak, then maybe buff it, or just leave it as unplayable. Because there are tons of different combinations anyway.

I doubt you find even 50 people on the whole forums who will agree with you. And I’ve seen only few builds (maybe 2-3%) that follow “strict” pattern, simply because some rank 3-6 choices are downright bad (so you’d rather pick earlier rank choice instead).
