Things to note:

  • Level UP games does not seem to be the actual publisher but rather a portal for payment, localization, and a community.

  • IMC Games will handle server administration, game settings, etc.

  • You can play via the Level UP servers which are administered by IMC or though the Steam version which doesn’t have a region block for Brazil.

Uhoh prepare for all the “THE SKY IS FALLING” posts this is gonna kick up. But it sounds like IMC learnt a hard lesson from dealing with nexon and intends to retain control this time.

@STAFF_Ethan IMC probably needs a official post regarding this to prevent confusion like what happend with play1asia months ago

Looks like it, I don’t see any reason for the BR community to be mad.

Last time I played a game that ran through a portal service (Digimon Masters, which ran through Aeria Games as a portal, originally hosted by some company in the UK), things were actually cheaper than the official server so that people would play on the Aeria servers. Aeria is known to be a very p2w company, like level up, so who knows.

Regardless it seems IMC is in control here, and Level UP is just offering services such as localization, and payment portals, so its good news regardless.

so that would be mean that IMC might also plan the same approach for EU and SEA region for their portal localization.

Who knows, wouldn’t be much of an international server if that was the case. But I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing either. It’d mean better ping for SEA / EU players.

well isnt it still on the same iToS steam server?

If the IMC Games remain responsible for server administration and the game settings, there is no problem, those who do not like that way, just do not play it

The way it’s written for Level UP seems like there will be a specific local server that can be used, which is administered by IMC, or the Steam servers. Players can choose which server they would like to play on.

bRO is famous for numerous gm/admin side corruption scandals through the years, extreme pw2 cash shops, and bots/cheaters everywhere. Account security is non existent.

Actually that applies to all games they publish on Brazil.

So I’ve heard, and I’m sure IMC has seen numerous times on the forums. You still have the choice of playing on the Steam servers, and I’m sure atleast a few Brazilians would not mind playing on a lower ping server, but you’re not restricted in any way. You’re just given another option.

I don’t see how that is a problem when IMC will still run the game.

LUG are just translating it and offering a way for Brazilian players to pay for cash shop items in an affordable way. They’re not running the game, they’re just acting as portal for Brazilian players.

THE FALLING IS SKY!

(well, close enough)

For those who cant read/speak Portuguese (and dont want to use translator machines), heres the full announcement translation (PT-EN), from the Level Up website, following the link posted by FatePGN (Note: tis been literally ages since the last time I write down/read that much in Portuguese >~<):

PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN LEVEL UP AND IMC GAMES, OF TREE OF SAVIOR!

Hi, folks!

It’s with great pleasure and pride that we announce the formation of a new partnership between Level Up and IMC Games, the Tree of Savior game developer! With this, you can expect a lot of news regarding this anticipated title in Brazil, all prepared especially for the players in the country!

The IMC Games will remain responsible for server administration and the game settings. However, thanks to the partnership, the title will be fully localised in Brazilian Portuguese, in addition to a national Support Center!

The credits sale will also be performed by Level Up, which means you can purchase them in Reais (TN: Brazilain currency) with all the facilities we offer, as payment option by bank transfer and exclusive promotions, all without the need to own an International Credit Card. In this way, it’s much more convenient and cheap.

In the future you can choose your favorite way to play: downloading the game client from national servers, administered by IMC Games, or through Steam, without any regional block.

In addition to the payment and downloading facilities, the Brazilian server offers the opportunity to participate in a national community, to see their original game content shared or even become an official partner!

We are currently talking with IMC Games to finalise the details on the Brazilian server and will soon disclose more details.

So stay tuned and wait for the arrival of Tree of Savior!

The reason behind this petition was the possibility of a Latam region block (with Brazil being the vocal majority), which is already clarified that wont be the case. In the end, tis a WIN for Brazilians. Now all we need is to hope the same happens for EU and SEA.

Its because you don’t know how LVLUP games do business here lol. Totally mercs, and their games are full of kids using their fathers/mothers CC, and i really mean kids, i get lots of those kids computers to repair on my shop so i know what i am talking about lol.

In all honesty, if it was only the in-game money they sold i wouldn’t mind, but if it is items from the CS then ■■■■ will hit the fan and hard.

@Asogi HOLY ■■■■, that was a fast shot down LMAO.

Regardless, there is still no reason to be mad, because it’s simply another option. The BR community can still play the international version. There’s no loss here, just another choice.
