Bought Battlebird but it does not follow me or attack enemies 90% of the time it just freezes in one place

Dear fellow players,

I decided to buy a Battlebird but now I have the issue that it does not move unless I ride it and same goes for attacking 90% of the time it’s like this and the only thing to fix it is resummon your pet and you will have to do it allot of times and at any random moment it freezes again.

Please I cant contact support and send a ticket because it says my steam is not validated yet even tough i have it for like 10 years and even use authenticator on my mobile with steam guard.

Help please!

It’s just the pet AI. Happens with all the pets. If you keep it fed they tend to move and attack more often. Sometimes they follow again if you move far away enough, or deactivate and activate them. Or relog your character.

They don’t do anything, and when they do they will charge against the biggest group of mobs in sight to get one shotted and make you waste your animal food.

It happens too with sorc summons. Most of the time my ts just stays still. Kinda justifiable as c2 has specific summon commands, but generally any pet AI in this game is atrocious.

But the battle bird if i dismount does not move, it will stand there as a rock and wherever I go whatever I fight it will not move from the spot where I left my mount. THe food is alwayse at 100% so this can’t be it.

The Battlebird does not follow me 90% of the time, and I have to cancel summon and re-summon to retry to get him to follow me …

like the above had mention is their AI problem, if it get stuck, it usually can only be active again when you relog / change channel.

there is another way though, but is a bit troublesome as well, open f8 (gesture tab), then in an empty textbox, type in /comeon , this way you can call the pet to you by using hot key, it’s not the best solution, but in case you don’t want to relog, you can try using this.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, mi pet freezes a lot of times as well. At least mine is a normal pet so I don’t loose any bonus if it’s not close to me.

There is a lvl 180 or so quest around Viltis forest map where you use pets from the npcs to search for stuff and hunt monsters, and it happened there as well, the pet froze in place after looking for half the items, and if I relogged I lost the progress on the quest. It took me like 10 tries to do it without it freezing. It’s so bad.

That’s quite usefull, now I have managed to create the hotkey, the default alt+shift+number works, but I can’t drag the icon to my hotbar.
The reason I want to do that is because I play with controller due to RSI.

sadly we cant drag it to the hotbar, i don’t have a controller to test it out, but i think you should be able to map key to your controller, something like this (this is for mouse), it should be fine as long as you don’t macro anything:

I’m not sure is it legal to do this, but there is an old software for you to modify the key, however I don’t know whether is this up-to-date now, Tree of Savior - Hotkey changer with Joystick Support (Updated)

Thank you so much for your help up till now, the program you posted a picure from ’ Command Editor’ is that the thing I can download using the link you provided?

Also how can I contact Tree of Savior support since on the website I can only log in with facebook or Google, I don’t have facebook and with my e-mail it says steam authenticate doesn’t work, that’s right because my steam is on another e-mail adress, heck I don’t think gmail was around when that e-mail was created, how can I reach the player support from TOS?

To add this is not the only problem with the Battlebird, since when I call it it still won’t move from the spot I call it to, it will get attacked but don’t attack back and don’t gain xp, after resummoning 20 times or something it will do it’s job for 10 seconds to a few minutes and go back to standing dead mode at random timing not gaining xp moving or attacking but taking dmg dying and losing all stamina over and over again

that’s the default Logitech software, it’s not the one from the link. The link is an old program that allow you to modify the keybind on your controller, however I’m not sure whether IMC allow this or not, since you are modifying the game file.

I just come across some post a while ago that mention an addon call mount them good or something, you can try to search for it, seems like it can allow you to mount your pet even If it’s far away.

IIRC you can create a new account on steam with the gmail, then verify it again, it should work, as I had create a gmail account for this purpose before, since my steam account is using ymail.

the pet AI had been bugged for quite some time, the only way to let it became active again, is by changing channel / relog the char.

if not mistaken, pet exp gain is depend on your char, you need to be grinding mob that is close to your char level (not sure what the max difference is), but just by questing + grinding normally it should be able to level up.

stamina isn’t really important unless your char is a mounted class or pet user.

the /comeon command does not work right if the battlebird is bugged out, it makes the bird even buggier. the little guy disappeared on me after unmounting after I called him with the /comeon command. also as a warning do not enter into boss fights (when the black appears at the top and bottom of the screen) while mounted because if you move while mounted as part of the scene the game bugs out and you have to restart the game.

changing channels seems to unbug him too so if you feel like risking the loading screen bugging out on you and having to restart your computer you can try that if you happen to be in a area where there is more than one channel.

so really we have two choices with the bird.

  1. use him to travel faster
  2. let him follow you and help you attack but don’t ride him since it seems he bugs out if he is in the middle of doing an AI function.

I wish this was the option for me.

  1. Use him to travel faster, but when you dismount he will not follow you so you can’t quickly remount after a fight and run to the next one since you will have to search for him, or he has died since he does not follow and not attack back when in ‘bugged’ state.

  2. This is absolutely impossible, every time I fight within a few minutes he goes to ‘bugged’ state and I have to relog/change channel… every few minutes some times within a few seconds…
