Botters ARENT getting perm banned, but if you type BOLD text you get perm ban?

agreed there. but then again, several other seemingly-simple things about the chat interface that have been suggested haven’t been done either.

maybe it’s just really low priority?
maybe what -seems- simple to us is some kind of horrible spaghetti-code module that literally no one understands, not even the guy that wrote it, and now they’re just closing their eyes and not looking at it. “if we don’t mess with it, it won’t break.”

Stop complaining, this game is still in beta.

The game isn’t in beta it’s a full released game now.

lol ok, Mirararararararara, still in beta, yep. just like WoW and Guild Wars, and everything else. totally in beta.

you are wrong its SUPER BETA you know…did i got banned to?

yes i’m going to pm all the staff and have you banned for disagreeing with me.

but i guess Super Beta explains why it’s wearing a cape…

:joy::joy:

that the simple picture why you got banned

-from’me-

Eh, I gotta agree it’s a stupid reason to get banned. I had no idea it wasn’t even permitted since I see it on Klap all the time. They should just take it out of the client, ipso facto, problem solved? o_o

I don’t think the devs know how to code

Should i remind that users that abused payment methods to acquire DLCs were banned for 30 days also.

So botting and money fraud are less harmful than using larger font in chat. Well played IMC, wp.

P.S. For those who think that game is still in beta: if game is still in beta then IMC is the only company that released pre-release DLCs. Other companies sometimes release day-one DLCs and even those are usually frowned upon.

The thing is one can be wrongly banned as bot, while using huge bold text is an obvious offense.

Chances are that was the only violation that player did. At least Max handed another permanent punishment for someone just increasing his !! message size so it didn’t stay as a single case and exception: Player Abusing the Chat Game Code Third Player

Those “like me please” afkers are somewhat irritating but really now. Permanent blocks (which could likely mean bans) sounds way too harsh compared to gold buyers, botters and other severe exploiters getting only temporary ones

If someone’s squinting at their screen trying to read the normal text the sudden appearance of Bold text may startle and blind them. Sudden blindness could send them into a panic and cause them to fall through a window or down a staircase and break their necks. By using such a thing you’ve endangered countless lives and have been punished for it.

Life is just a disease with 100% mortality. So they could have saved alot of people from suffering by prematurely ending it.

People should also be aware that you can manually change chat font size in-game through a settings option (it’s in the chat bar settings).

You can increase the size of the font temporarily, have someone you dislike say something in chat so it looks huge, then reduce the font so that proceeding chat will look normal. Take a screenshot of it and blame the player for “abusing a code” and voila, free perma ban.

Honestly though I’m very disappointed that they don’t even investigate it before banning. This is pretty much an obvious thing to do when it comes to these cases.

I’d also like to add that a player who was clearly RMT’ing and even admitted and confessed to it is still roaming free and isn’t even given any sanctions. I’m just hoping this player isn’t paying off the IMC staff or anything which is why he’s still not banned.

OP was making a valid point, comments targeted the wrong point…

OP was showing how @STAFF_Max handled 2 different cases:

  1. a player appealing because he got banned

  2. a player who used a widely known chat exploit

in case 1:
the player was complaining that he got banned, with no context to support his claims of innocence, he threatens to take legal action…

suddenly STAFF_Max comes in saying the player got temporarily banned for 30 days for BOTTING, an offense we all know should be permanently bannable, what was the due process that made the player innocent and had his account only temporarily banned and not permanent?

…we don’t know, only STAFF_Max knows

in case 2:
a player was seen using a chat exploit that made the text appear large and bold

suddenly STAFF_Max comes in and PERMA-BANS the player without asking for more evidence, only basing his actions on a picture that could very well be shopped, why didn’t he ask for more proof? why did he quickly PERMA-BANNED the player?

…we don’t know, only STAFF_Max knows

#STAFF_Max, he knows!

^will i get banned for using headers now?
OP was trying to show us a possible abuse in power where actions and punishments were handed out without due process, at least those visible to us
