Bots are everywhere…just spent 1 hour farming church 2F, and there was also pack of bots who are top ranked in the monster kill counter with 7k kills… feels pathetic compare to them. Just wonder if they are legal and im moron spending my own time?

A lot of maps are full of bots. its awful.
Bots are everywhere.
Now even bots with normal Names (Shelly, June, etc) not just this “sckvndjkgue” (Keyboard random spam) Names.
I have seen Goldspammer advertising Powerleveling!!! (because selling gold is not profitable). I have the feeling “normal” Players buying this service and the “Goldsellers” are leveling this charas with bots.
It has to stop!!! It feels even worse than RO. Yesterday I was online a couple of hours: Not a single map or even a single channel was free of bots!!!
Its more like Tree of Bots now.
I want it to stop. We want it to stop! It has to stop!
(I hope that new IG report system they think of can help to solve the problem.)

Diablo 3 and WoW looked like they Were overrun by botters, the community moaning in their simple-mindedness wanted something done immediately, constantly questioning if Blizzard cared…but Blizzard was playing the LONG GAME. They detected the bots, waited MONTHS to flag hundreds of thousands of buyers, sellers, botters, and mules…and then they let the cat out of the bag. News making uber banhammer that no one saw coming.
In other words: CHILL THE HECK OUT.
Think about it: why ban 400 people now manually when come late April botters are going to start churning their account farms on with free accounts and are going to try to turn the game inside out, when they can wait until open day and come outta nowhere, with a shotgun, and blow the F*** outta all the accounts with silver on them, eh?

Implying bots doesn’t exist in any other MMO. They’re everywhere and its near impossible to banish them all. They will always come back no matter what. Chill the hell down.
How do you identify bots?
I haven’t noticed a single one yet, except the ones spamming in chat.
Sure, there is the occasional group of players with 5 times the same character but so far I’ve always assumed that they were multiboxing and not botting which is fine
The chat spam ones I could care less about.
It’s the ones TELEPORTING over the map and one hitting mobs they’re no where near I care about because spawn rates are garbage.
People wonder why there wasn’t another RO like game made in the past 10 years. Instead every game just copied WoW. I’m starting to understand why now. In this type of game, it’s just impossible to have bots under control, so players end up leaving for private servers, and the private servers will be more successful since they are less of a target for bots. This is why we can’t have nice things man…
Well, there’s a few ways of atleast figuring:

Character is 10~20 levels above the area they’re grinding in, only killing random mobs

Character rarely uses skills at all (I believe Clerics are an exception to this?)

Character seems to be ‘teleporting’:
-As in, they’re standing still but monsters are dying in the area. Seems to be common among Swordsmen. -
Character is using basic gear (I notice most of them don’t even equip bangles and necklaces)

Character jaggedly runs to a Healing Square and away to another mob (I had this happen while leveling my Sadhu, actually. Wish I could confirm it.)

Obvious gibberish names, though some are less jibberish.
They may only be running around a singular area repetitively. It’s not say, hard to find the bots, but rather there is the incredibly small chance that it is a very strict player. There’s more, but that’s on the top of my head.

Essentially this. We are going to see a huge banhammer sweep the board clear within a few weeks. It is highly likely that IMC is lining up some sort of detection method that will autoban hacker behaviors, but they have to get their algorithms properly configured. The longer they collect data, the more effective the banwave is going to be.
I’d rather wait to see a proper detection method that destroys obvious botters in one fell swoop instead of spotty ban waves that are not as effective and are full of false positives.
Bots will avoid walking across healing squares, they are unable to interact with them due to their current programming.

Well I did get a reply on my ticket that they’re “investigating” it but srsly, bots with arde dagger? Bots farming dungeon matchmaking? That’s just a bit too much.
