Hi, I’m sure the party I was with was not the only one instance of a potential bot-sighting outside of their natural habitat. We spotted one peculiar player in the level 145 dungeon: Hollow Thorn Forest with a rather strange behavior.
His/her actions were very consistent to the point of mechanical, being:
- Orbiting around the closest player.
- Doesn’t use any skill beyond Camouflage and auto-attacking.
- Always use Camouflage after being attacked by enemies and just stay hidden in the center of the enemies pack.
- Auto-attacking by shooting once from a crossbow every few seconds.
- Died twice and will always request for res in Normal chat once.
- Never saying anything outside of “res pls” after dying, as stated in point 5.
I’ve attached 3 screenshots below to try to illustrate the points above:
- Doing nothing in a barrel in the center of the combat area.
- Orbiting the closest player.
- Died the second time but isn’t entertained with a resurrection.
This is evidently not the most complicated game to bot in and dungeon botting is a prevalent thing across multiple MMORPG titles, but the lack of features to report/deport such individuals while in a dungeon run is most detrimental and will be much more so in the future - is what I think.
I am not unhappy because of landing in a party with a single bot person who literally does nothing throughout the run as we managed to clear with the 3 of us human players(one was MIA from the start). I’m more salty knowing that I’ve had a hand in contributing to the botting scene as there was no surefire way to remove such individuals while being forced to continue on with the dungeon run and feeding the bot in question delicious experience points.
For the sake of a healthy game, I sincerely hope this will be looked into.
