Bokor-Monk Does it works?

Hey!

I’ve seen some threads about Bokor-Monk but only very old ones

Since with this path changes, Priest aren’t really needed on a monk build, and maybe neither Diev past C1, I was thinking about this Bokor-monk build.

Bwa Kayiman seens to be a physical skillans scale with STR
And Bokor looks to dont need that much SPR like other summoners
But i dont know nothing (:p) about Bokors

It can work in some way?
C2>Bokor2>Monk3>Inq?

Thanks o/

Zombies based their dmg and def in spr, if i’m not wrong some from STR. would be not the best choice to go bokor over Diev or Priest C2.

Also if you use bwa you can’t do any other skill while channeling so… not worth.

Currently running one, exact same build.

It works, it’s pretty good even. Bwa helps you in the AOE department when you’re solo and it’s a great tool to CC mobs down when in team.

Deals almost no dmg, theres plenty more CC wich can be used over BWA… not worth gimping compared as mentoned before.

That being said, i took Bokor mainly for Mackangdal. This alone makes it worth it for me.

Also pretty much any pre-monk class sucks anyway (for monk)

As a cleric… you could be a nice support even if the classes picked doesn’t fit monk exactly…

Priest or Diev both provide with:

-Ress, some bless dmg, Mass heal, monstrance, sacra, revive…
-20% cd, free teleports, sp cost reduction, nice leather armor type dmg, silence…

Bokor gives, bad aoe dmg, CC while you do crap aoe, immunity (if landed hit goes on safety zone), meat wall from zombies, though low spr will make em paper zombies…

Still if ppl enjoy it and don’t want to min-max… go for it.

Thanks for the replies
On both pros e cons xD
Well i don’t care that much for min-maxing, if the build can work its fine for me (seen that it looks to be fun to play :stuck_out_tongue: )

I was already doing a Diev-Monk build, but with the path changes, i dont know if its really worth going diev past c1 now, besides i cant be a better priest than a int based one i think, so that lead me to the bokor (after paladin c1 got discarded too)

@zordagoth can you give some hint on wich skills from Bokor would be useful for me, not having int, besides Zombies and Mackangdal?
Also, how much SPR would be the minimun for me?

Thanks

priest doesn’t need

bokor-monk , diev-monk are fine

diev have a bit more damage and more utility

bokor have zombie swarm

mackangdal could work well with lv5 golden bell shield (never test it)

bokor run faster with lv5 semediveve

Like i said, Bwa is a fine CC/Aoe tool, Mackangdal is really good with Safety zone and Golden Bell Shield and as @Planeptune said Samediveve is a movement speed boost, always useful.

As for SPR, you won’t need that much mana really thanks to Double Punch being Stamina based.

Thanks for the replies!
Helped me a lot

So, as a Bokor Monk i should still go for around 100/150DEX, rest in STR?

Yes, it works, I already tested it.

Hello, I tested everything w monk n d best choice is bokor c2, if u wanna pvp go cleric1-priest1,bokor2,monk3-oracle1 but if u goal is pve so cleric2, bokor2, monk3 oracle1.

My build here..

gear full critical rate

90-60-10-20-210 -> str;con;int;spr;dex naked my status.

Sounds about right. Have fun punching everything

hm, i do not think this is most optimal build.
first of all, all the benifits you get from oracle, you can buy scrolls for (outside of counterspell) and inquisitor is far better choice for monk3 to increase DPS in pvp or pve

secondary, cleric 2 is mondatory for any monk build due to 40 hit counts on safety zone vs 10 from cleric 1
also heal 10 tiles over 5 is big difference.

as far as bokor vs diev vs priest go. this is a matter of preference.
in my opinion here are the four EQUALLY good monk3 builds:

cleric2-diev1-priest1-monk3-inquisitor
cleric3-diev1-monk3-inquisitor (my personal favorite)
cleric2-priest2-monk3-inquisitor
cleric2-bokor2-monk3-inquisitor

picking anything else at rank8 is gimping your ability to do anything in this game past leveling. (in pvp oracle might work, but so can inquisitor)

My monk’s build is full tbl n without oracle/pd u can’t counter cc n become an easy prey to cc’s builds, even using mackangdal u still vulnerable to cc.
Oracle is better than pd, imo, because has opitions in pve far better than pd.
Inquisitor has a tremendous boost native dmg, i agree w that, but, using a good weapon, monk also has a good dmg, not so great as inqui’s dmg.
cleric 2 isnt necessary, u can fully heal uself if heal lvl5, but i’m a solo palyer.

To tbl bokor is far better than priest or diev, because u can boost um moviment speed n can be able to 15s invu.

Now that some monk enthusiasts are here, might as well ask.

Does leveling Golden Bell give anything at all ?

shorter cooldown 1s each level

alright thank you very much

hm. if it is for TBL, would you not have another PD in the party?

but i do agree on Bokor is awesome for TBL.

Oracle can handle most debuffs, pd isnt always needed n oracle can nullify magic dmg using counterspell, i use it to save my teammates that are trapped by some cc w combo like kino+wl n like a safety zone in pve against magic mobs.

Oracle also provi +25sta, scroll just give +9 n 5% chance to nullify any kind of dmg w forecast.
