Blessed Shard Farming Simulator 2018

Dungeons

We also considered suggestions to add a Storage NPC in Saalus Convent to make storing Blessed Shards easier after each mission, but we didn’t want to encourage players to permanently move their characters there, so in the end we decided against it.

Really makes you think, huh? If adding a Storage NPC to Saalus Convent would encourage players to do that, I wonder what they had in mind when they moved all the dungeons to Klaipeda.

That’s what the majority of players are already doing anyway. Just buy HP/SP potions and park your characters at Saalus Convent to farm Shards the whole week to open the cubes and store the Talts and Shards in the Team Storage at the end of the week.

Adding value to the current content or new content with as much value as Saalus would be a better way to discourage this player behavior than not adding a Storage NPC to the map. Pssst: Saalus being the fastest and the less effort demanding way to progress in this game is the reason why we have a healthy total population, but a low average CCU that’s getting lower day by day.

This announcement is literally:

“Look iToS, we are working on something.”

They make a big fuss about a popup, a few features that should have been in the game from start and a new NPC. All this things can be coded by a single person in one - three days.

Might as well move Saalus Convent NPC to Klaipeda instead.

IMC don’t have that capable person unfortunately.

They are only filling, or better saying, feeding us crap updates as usual, no sign of fixing existing bugs/exploits/glitches, nor optimization, if that is possible now, they don’t do QC on the updates, hence many bugs appearing after each patch.

In all honesty, IMC don’t have 2 groups of devs, they do have the main devs, and for iToS only people with little knowledge who translate texts (using google translator) and apply the patches into Steam repo/their own repo (honestly I find this stupid, why patch 2x the same thing?).

Should move ET Npc too to Klaipeda, actually, why not move all main quests NPC to Klaipeda too?

These guys don’t have any brain to think on useful stuff, and instead do this kind of crap…

^This is IMC looking at us in these forums lol.

As for iToS, they do have at least one capable dev of doing basics like LighDarkSide said.

If you look at lua codes from IPFs related to events you can iToS changes that are pretty simple.

If the dev/group for simple stuff is from another area and knows how to code basic stuff or are actually hired as devs, we can’t know.

Big things though, is just like you said, probably job of main devs along with game design people.

As for why to patch 2 times the same thing. There’s an explanation for that.

As much people can call it bad-ish design. There’s a way to explain it.

If you dislike how Steam patching works it’s valid to not want to use it.

But you don’t want your users to install a 2016 version of the game and patch it all the way to 2018.

You can put files on steam to ensure new users and reinstalls gets the game base files as new as possible while you’re still using your patcher (that you’re used to) as your main game update tool.

It works and is actually a decent choice if you look at it this way.
It can be explained and isn’t actually something random.

Fixing items you can’t delete doesn’t need a feature patch. Just do it now. The time it took to write and translate that article probably took longer than some of those fixes would of taken.
I’ve been stuck with 30 day event armor (that cant be deleted or stored) trapped in my inventory on my farming character taking up weight I need for drops. 20 more days till it’s all deleted. The time they do the patch it’ll probably be long expired. Problems like this could of also been easily prevented by them not being picky as ■■■■ about everything. Tree of Restrictions needs to end already.

I will take PoE (and please let’s not start what happened on the other thread LOL).

They have a patcher on their stand-alone client, and no patcher on Steam version, actually, on Steam version I think there’s an embed patcher, but you don’t notice it, so it does look like Steam did the patch process.

If I’m not mistaken, PoE has a main file (6-8GB in size) and it does patch inside there, not download the whole new thing.

Also, patching 2x will make the SSD write more, lowering it’s life time, I know you will say, then why are you using SSD for MMOs? But soon it will be the norm to have SSDs, and once you actually used it, you don’t want to go back to HDD.

Btw I’m using a HDD on the current desktop I’m using (my laptop still working, just not using it lol), and it take 3-4x more to wait loading ToS, D3 take a while too to load.

Anyway, I wouldn’t bother so much for these useless patches and ideas they come, if they at least, did some QC on their patches.

Don’t worry, I only do that to trolls xD

I agree with what you said. There’s definitely better ways to patch the game.

I just meant, like, it’s something that can be explained. Also, what you download via steam won’t be downloaded via patcher. Same for the dev thing, it can actually be found that someone actually codes pretty small stuff, dunno who or what or knowledge level but they do code small lua event stuff for itos (but definitely aren’t main devs nor code actual game stuff) >_<

Which explain well why we get some bugs on patches that kToS never saw.

I actually laughed when they wanted to add a “feature” that will sort gears by their sockets/stats.

we already have an add - on for that for quite some time now

If I was an imc employee I would probably feel ashamed
