Binary Search the Crystal Event (4 guesses needed max)

Make sure to read the text after you guess, since the event tells you if you should guess higher or lower when you get the answer wrong, which allows you to use binary search to find the correct answer.

Binary Search : Basically always guess the middle number in the remaining possible range (Guess middle of 1-10 (5) on first try, if it tells you to go higher, guess the middle of 5-10 (8), if it tells you lower, guess the middle of 1-5 (3), and on and on.)

It should take at most 4 guesses to get the correct number, since there are only 10 options.

@joeswaaz A game community is just a sample of the total population. I actually believe most people would have no idea.

My favorites are the 10 attempts, 3 number combination gimmicks. You can do 357, 246, 189 then do a cross check with 123 and 456. This gives you around 65% chance of getting 1 perfect match and 1 in the wrong order, figuring out the rest isn’t that bad.

The 10 attempt gimmick to guess a number 0-900 is much more straightforward, just go with a number close to half the range every time and you’re golden.

The root event is very straightforward. But it’s not people’s math which fails the most often, but carrying only 1 or 2 root essences. I believe it resets if you leave the map.

let me rephrase, the fact this forum is un-moderated and without foreign-sections its nothing but filth and broken-english ignorance “by choice”

the game is another story

i much prefer the 0-900 gimmick because it uses the same math as the event but 10x “bigger” if i ever stray across one i always end up doing as many completions as it allows because i enjoy math (not being sarcastic)

the 10 attempt 3-number combination i have a python script for, which has ruined the fun but time is money.

not sure what you mean by the root essences “resetting” because i have over 100 of them i hoarded so i could finish the quests daily without leaving town

Yeah, I hoarded them too cause I knew I’d lazy out it I didn’t, but some people went there with 1 essence at a time, so their number changed as they left Klap to farm some more.

About the forum not being moderated and ignorance by choice, I totally agree. Foreign section doesn’t really seem like a necessity, most people communicate fairly well as is, and the population isn’t large enough for sectioning. I rarely see English broken to the level where it’s unreadable (although it happens, but they’ll learn too).

Man, you killed best gimmick with a scrip. The 0-900 is far too simple imo.
