Best Pyromance skills?

Hello, before CBT2 comes, I wanna know which pyromancer skills were good during last CBT and which ones were not worth it and why.

I’m thinking of trying out Wiz1, Pyro2, Ele3

Fire Ball, Flame Ground, Fire Pillar. All DPS but that’s what Pyromancer is for.

Fire Ball has 2 casts and does nice damage for cost and CD and stunlocks
Flame Ground doesn’t have a hit limit and hits as many enemies as there are in the circle (I think)
Fire Pillar does the same thing but stunlocks which I don’t think Flame Ground does but I’ll test that later.

I love Fire Pillar. It deals nice damage and can also serve as an excellent ceiling support-beam for your next major home renovation.

Hey there

Thanks for your insight on the matter. It really helps for someone who never played the game until iCBT2.
I made this build based around your recommendations. http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/nju21oqdly/
I’m trying to be a DPS Wizard that should be decent solo and good in group play. What do you think? I’m kinda unsure about alot of things.

In Wizard im picking up Reflect Shield and Sleep as utility and putting the rest of the points into the damage skills since they don’t scale well anyway.

In Pyro I’m going the way of your recommended skills. Additional points I have put into Enchant Fire to have some group buffs. Is it worth it or am I better of with Fire Wall or Flare?

Im going into Elementalist at Rank 4. Im unsure if this is the best or if it’s better to go Pyro C3 or maybe even Linker.
Also unsure about the Elementalist skills. The ones I picked have long cooldowns. Is Freezing Sphere or Electrocute any good? They are the only ones with low cooldowns.

Thanks to anyone willing to help.
Cheers
Nevius

I think your build is entirely fine but for Elementalist, I heard that Prominence wasn’t a good skill since the chances of hitting even big bosses is rare. Which is weird considering how big the bosses are. Even in PvP, someone stood still when a friend cast Prominence and it never hit them. So… More Hail and either Freezing Sphere or Electrocute. For Stone Curse… not sure about that skill so just try it out in the CBT. TEST THEM ALL!

Fire ball + Flame ground can carry you till you reach cap due to short cd and good damage.
Fire Pillar do good damage and lock but have a very long cool down.
Other reason already mention above in @Garrnett post.

What about Fire Wall? Why there are so many people do not invest their points on it. I’ve also seen many opinions on the forums about Fire Wall being underwhelming. Now I really don’t feel confident about my build.

I plan to go Wizard1 > Pyromancer3 > Linker1 > Chronomancer1,
or Wizard1 > Pyromancer3 > Sorcerer2

Ok thank you
Yes I will probly put 1 in everything in the CBT just to test it.

Fire Wall was once good but after have Flame Ground it’s not that good anymore imo due to damage/limit hit count/duration and cooldown. Not hurt to have it though but definitely not worth if it’s under lv 5.

Thanks alot for all your insights. How about enchant fire and flare?? Flare seemed awesome but I am not familiar which spells do actually burn enemies.

Here is what I might try out: http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/v4pmc7m0a2/

You could play Wizard C3 for Quick Cast, alot of ppl say its very good with ele.

I also thought of that, but I’m a big fire fan and I did not like the only 2 fire spells Ele have. Also, alot of people say that pyro does way more damage than Ele

Well, for DOT I think pyro doing better but for a burst damage it possible to be ele.

Enchant fire not really use since we rarely use normal attack and mostly use a skill all the time. Damage that add from buff are fix damage so it’s a very small amount at high level.

Flare is not worth imo. Fireball can do burn with 50% chance at lv 5 passive. Only for a very short time (5 sec.). Not sure if anything else can add burn though.
