murmillo is a tank with high burst that can keep aggro from dpser like doppel or fencer, since you don’t go all kirito with 285million hp world bosses, you go with a party that works around the dps (aka tank+healer+debuffer+dmg booster)
Yeah, safety zone, ausrine, heals, missile hole, stone skin solves any “staying alive” problems for Doppels. The new Gazing Golem card also solves your knockdown problems so you’re all set.
This game’s meta revolves around attack, not defense. The above covers any sort of defensive requirements from any dps build.
Even if some dps had at least 70 000hp life, accuracy would be a huge issue vs specific monsters that will dodge 75% of your attacks. There are also ein sof double/ (triple hp?) / cleric 3 quardian angel with the right attributes and paladin 3 op barrier so people can totally babysit a dps/ tank full con 8-10 transcend.
You may also be right for rank 9 content with the stats resets of guess to impress event to overcome 2 shots while they tone down later.
Helgasercle has over 400m HP. And you can’t tank the lightning since there will be one lightning area spawned for each character around the boss, no matter who has got the aggro. It will just utterly destroy any build that has not enough survival skills,HP and defence.
Better not take that Doppelsoeldner with you against a real boss,he’ll drop dead if he’s not backed by some extreme NEETs farming or a Whales credit card power.
Parties working around a single character/build is just stupid imo. In TOS the possible difference between a Doppel and other builds is not so large that it can’t be overcome by removing the wasted Circles just to boost that one character.
Zornhau e.g. has got ~5000% attack every 15 seconds. Sadhus Possession with Transmit Prana to back it up has over 7800% every 20 seconds. Heal with Blessing has over 9000% every 24 seconds. God Smash has up to 4800% every 20 seconds.
Creeping Death Charm ~9000% every 35 seconds.
It’s foolish to even think about building a party with some specialized supporters, because 1 Doppelsoeldner can’t make up for the damage loss he causes just by relying on those builds. If you can bring in another 9000%(that’s 10 Healing tiles with Blessing and without any damage attribute involved) of damage instead of throwing it before the Doppelsoeldner just to keep him alive, he won’t be able to compensate for that possible loss.
That’s a waste,though. Best thing is to bring hybrid builds fit for survival&damage instead of bringing lowbob yolo characters that have to rely on others to stay alive. One mistake of you or one other party member and you die,point. That’s not a boss killer, that’s a Glass Cannon (and a not very efficient one,too).
Just don’t bring the chars to babysit in the first place and you’re fine.
Just because someone wants to play a character with a twohanded sword doesn’t have to equal that this is always the best solution and his egoism forces others to baby him…
Doppel has the best damage in a Barbarian-type build but also the least sustainability, thus is being disqualified from being the best boss killer, as the best boss killer is not solely characterized by damage but also by the ability to stay alive on his own.
Maybe in rank 9 content, you need 5 clerics or 5 dps with 70 000hp xD?
What makes the dps of doppel high is the buffs from miko and taoist, so no archers or casters can compete at all because of broken multipliers damage buffs for melee.
Lol, just lol at your post, you need a party that works around your dps in this game and has been the rule since cbt,look at et for instance, the main role of a tank is too keep the boss in one position away from healer, buffer etc, and has been like that before r8, those lightning can be blocked and a rodelero can Blick the incoming magic too, a doppel has redel, Zucken, zhormau, Zwar, which are multi hits plus the innate % of slash and dmg deal increase and the highlander and barbarian skills, and sadly fencer are one of the few classes that can compete against them with them being 3 times more expensive
Sorry buddy, but shin murm is the highest bossing dps. ■■■■ i was outdpsing doppels when i was pelta3 rode3 and i was mostly con. Headbutt, Shield Bash, Targ Smash, Synchro, Evade all can deal damage cap. Play the class before you talk about it.
We need players transcend stage 10 with whatever builds alone vs sponge boss to compare.
Also if some boss are weak to strike or slash, people will always have bias too.
It’s possible for rank 9 you’ll need specific accuracy and armor block penetration so full con should not be able to dish so much without penalties if you think of others games.
Dunno if the strongest, but i’m quite happy with my Lancer.

dude, i have a lancer, dragonc2, murmillo, doppel and fencer 3, i mainly play sowrdsman, murmillo do dmg cap with those skills but are 1 hit, while a doppel redel alone do more than 2 millions, the same happen with fencer, the problem with murmillo rodel is the only multi hit skill that it have is shooting star and nothing else.
is not like i’m a fan of the class but since r8 doppel haven been to overpowered compared to other classes since their aoe is too damn powerfull and their single target is top notch wich is kind of unfair.

Most of the murmillo skills also have 2 to 3 overheats and fairly low cooldown. Outside of the new WBs with super high defense my shield bash can deal 100-200k without helmet and that is x5 with the clones plus the high damage from the original hit with cassis crista. And that has 2 overheats. And also theres kunai, double slash or synchro and then the rest of the fillers skills, with a chrono all the rotatin is up again.

the funniest thing about that video is that in the end the boss is atking a wagushi musketter and before anyone come saying that he had “time” to built up aggro, we can see by the boss HP that there is not enough time for that , because the boss was almost full (only 2-3 million of hp lost) and 2-3 million against some many players hitting like a truck in that scenery is nothing, so the question is: every swordsman in that movie is not using provoke? or the wagushi musketer is simple doing so much damage to keep aggro even with that in consideration?

Fun fact, Covering Fire with only the Butt Stroke debuff cause 9123% damage every 15 seconds and Snipe 5283% every 25 if the target is bleeding.
I am not sure wat you were trying to point, but the 1 party in this video was a party from a shin murm… Doppel is cheaper yes.
@nery_ma Why use provoke in bosses if you are a dps? The wugushi found the boss and was attacking first, you can se at the end of the video that he receives an additional box.
How about the best non swordmen builds?
The shin mum got second place, first 1 a doppel, despite that one of the 3 doppel in that party ended dying.
i’m not talking about using provoke on bosses at least not enforcing it and it seems you have missed the point with my msg, where everyone else seems to got it before moving back to the same murmilo x doppel but i will try to explain it again, to you.
this topic is about "best boss killer"class , where there is many factor in this scenery , damage would be without doubt one of the tops, so let start by saying that by tos aggroing standard mechs, you can only keep the boss, even if you hit it first if you do higher/equal damage than others in a scenery where those so called “others” are not using aggro tools like provoke or swash.
So now we have taken this in consideration the musketter have attacked the boss first, like you said; but this is no reason of why he should keep aggro in that video,unless he do equal or more damage than the others in that “particular scenery”; (duh this is the entire point of my previous msg but i will keep going and explaining why,again!) and the reason itself i explained in my previous msg but i will explain again with more words: if you look at the amount of players x the HP lost at that moment when the murmilo shows up we are talking about a HP window of less than 3million, something that players with that level of equips can do pretty easily, so is impossible that the musketter had enough “time” to build up aggro and keep it against the so called murmilos and doppels in “boss killer scenery” without having a similar or higher amount of damage himself and this was the point of my msg, because the discussion in this topic if you read for the start was centralized mainly on doppel x murmilo,where to start we have one “murmilo” coming a little late but the other ones are already there so the musketter had a far lower dps window than 3 million to built up aggro something that again i doubt that he did himself alone because this is not how bossing works and the mention about provoke was just to add a little spicy in my comment that i’m not gonna explain because this post is already long enough so if you did not get it , sorry !

Fletcher c3 Mergen does pretty well also. Equip with a high atk weapon and transcend and boss die instantly.
