Because we're ITOS theory

My theory as to how and why the game is in the state that it’s currently in. This excludes all the exploits and hacks going on because those issues lie within the players and IMC letting it happen because of client code not being robust.


Why is the game full of bugs and broken quests?
Because we’re ITOS.

Why does client randomly fail or disconnect during dungeons or missions?
Because we’re ITOS.

Why is R8 release delayed and no real news about them?
Because we’re ITOS.

Why don’t we get the same compensation as KTOS when maintenance kicks in?
Because we’re ITOS.

Why is our customer support ticket system unsatisfying and makes player want to quit?
Because we’re ITOS.

Why are our GMs close to nonexistent in game?
Because we’re ITOS.

Why don’t we get 5 dungeon runs and free exp tomes?
Because we’re ITOS.

I personally just don’t see how that theory could actually help out with anything.

I mean, yeah we’re not KToS, but what difference then makes it so that they’d (i) not care about our version bugs any more than they care for KtoS ones?; or (ii) why would IMC differentiate the kind of compensation we get compared to KToS on similar situations? And so on…

Just saying we’re IToS and that’s why everything’s the way it is doesn’t really narrow down the core issues which lead IMC to supposedely treat versions differently. I don’t know man, maybe it’s more like they find it easier to fix stuff for their original and local server, which likely has an easier to handle test server. Or maybe Korean players simply spend more than we do and that’s why they get priority (given IMC has scarce resources and staff)…

You’re missing the point of the thread.

It’s an explanation as to why we’re getting the short end of the stick.

In all seriousness, there I have a theory why we receive the short end of the stick:

First of all a huge problem is the lack of support and communication which, I think, has it’s root in some Asian mentality that they feel better doing nothing instead of doing something wrong. Which means they don’t tell us anything and don’t support because they could do something wrong or mess up with some English and what not (which regularly happens if they actually try) so they just do nothing.
KTOS of course has a better support because it is managed by Nexon. It is paid by Nexon. ITOS is managed by IMC and here they do what they think is the best way and in KTOS they simply do what Nexon tells them to do. Spoiler: IMC has next to no clue how to do it right. So many good core concepts and ideas but in some cases really really horrible realizations.

Why is the client so broken that people can exploit like crazy? That is also because of the fact that the main developer client is made for Korea and in Korea or Japan people have a completely other playing mentality like 99.9% of the ITOS player which is:
fun > anything else
Sometimes I have the feeling people here feel like they are forced to play. They are expected to perform the best they can do. All they care about is having the best possible build in the best possible situation. Only meta nothing else. No fun allowed.
And this makes them cheat. And it is easy to cheat because koreans do not do that because if they are caught cheating they mess up their whole Nexon account which is bound to their personal identity which means -> RIP gaming. If ITOS accounts were bound to personal identities things would probably look a lot different here.

If only we had the same kinda gaming mentality over here.
If you cheat in a game, the gaming company gets to kick your cheating butt out of all their games.

My theory excludes the exploits because it’s a players issue more than anything else. Why do some of us cheat and others don’t even though we could, it’s a difference in player morals and mentality.

Why does KTOS get better end of the stick? Because ITOS isn’t worth fixing when it’s only worth milking…:smirk:
