rng cube/loot/crate/box is common in mmos
some mmos even worse with timed costume and this is an absolute win for tos

It’s like these old card collection games where you purchase a pack of cards not knowing what would be inside so you end up with duplicates and exchange them with others. If you want a specific item from Goddess cube, just wait for it to be on sale in the market.
I just wish they’d put old gachapon items in the exchange shop again, it feels like its been a year since they did it last…

Yet it is completely different and nowadays online card games have systems to craft the cards you need, and systems for free to play players to have access to the same content, but with time invested in game. By the way, in collection games I played you always had at least one “rare” card in each pack of cards.
ToS doesn’t have the same success of games like Magic The Gathering, you will not always find what you want in the market due to that problem. Trade system is also restricted for non premium players (because of bots that are not even here anymore). Plus costumes are not necessary to play the game.
Please don’t compare good marketing with sick marketing.
It’s not that simple for every cosmetic item… Some wings you just can drop in these cubes and it’s very rare to find in the market. Why don’t sell in the TP shop without the rng? Why?? What’s the ■■■■■■■ problem, I don’t understand…
Imagine they do that. Now they take all percentage chances of every item in the cube and translate that to TP value. I’m not even sure the rarest items have 1/1000 chance of coming out of a cube, but such probability would mean those items would be put in the TP shop for something like 30000 TP. Then nobody would probably buy them as they would find the price prohibitive (that’s like 2000 euros for some piece of cosmetic for a character in a game!).
