So the camera is taken at an angle and the rendering seems to work based on distance to camera (like how the DoF interacts)… and the prev test is unusable cos of perspective and different heights.
This time i used a position in a line with the armor npc. I overlayed both, standing on exact same position. zooming seems to change the focal length so pardon the blurring.
Note that dunkel guy on the left. He’s right on the edge of rendered area. i move abit and he’s gone. and the girl on the right appears.
so yes, zoomy does widen your field of view on a flat ground.

Comparing an exploit that literally breaks the game to a Addon that just lets you see a bit more of your surroundings is not a good argument.

Nah, they did mentioned that an addon is bannable only after that they announce the addon is illegal.

After my boost luck addon they did release an announcement on their addon policy.
You can try to find it.
Though, I actually received warning message from staff such that I can’t post troll addon anymore.

When penalizing users of certain add-ons deemed inappropriate by our standards, we will announce the list of add-ons or functions. Any users using those add-ons or functions after the mentioned time-period on such announcements will be penalized.
I already linked it earlier in the thread.
Instead of making zoomy illegal, just allow us to friggin zoom out more without needing zoomy.
I cant play without zoomy on my kneeler char because my autoattack range is further than my vision.

Not directly related to the addon, but targeting skill in the corners of the screen with mouse is very bad now.
When you go over the map, party miniatures or chat, the skill ring will stop moving if you tried to drag the skill from outside those areas…
So, having a little more zoom out would be nice t oreach the maximum skill range, if this ends up not getting fixed (like all other mouse bugs still not fixed…).

The UI covers more than half of the game client’s window. You can’t use mouse targetting over UI elements. The day they fix mouse mode I won’t need to use addons to zoom out.
with the recent patchs, even more with the ktos new patch, IMC is doing exactly that, she is taking the “good addons” and add it in tos herself, at the recent patch from ktos, we got the function to see the number of people in each channel instead of a ball, it was a function from a addon , just like the new chat and so on,given enough time i believe that most addons that IMC things that is legal shall also be added in the game.
Please don’t ban the addon which makes this IN-YOUR FACE camera bearable for me in PvE, you masochists. It’s not even worth it on Arena - can’t really target sht with dat zoom!
What’s with that stupid idea of RESTRICT EVERYTHING??
This same problem happened in Ragnarok Online, where if you had a mod that extended camera zoom out and were playing a ranged class like an archer, you could shoot at maximum range, even if they would not normally be in your field of vision.
