Basic attack speed increase while holding a move key?

Well, in CBT 1 and 2 when i played as a archer, i noticed this already, but i think it’s because my ping or something else.
But now, when i play swordman and use a dagger as sub-weapon, i can see the attack speed while i hold my move key is pretty faster.
This seem to be a trick to increase your Basic attack speed, but it’s only available for some weapon (I just know this work with bow, crossbow, dagger).

Here is my clip, testing basic attack speed.

p/s: In this clip, the attack speed really fast cuz i attack nothing, it will be dropped when i attack a monster, but you still can see the different between holding a key and stand still.

Anyone can help me test this with more weapon?
I can confirm that this trick worked with dagger, bow, crossbow, but not work with one-handed sword or two-handed sword.

I think what you’re referring to is animation canceling where you input a movement key in between auto attacks.

The easiest way of course is to simply hold the movement keys but it works differently for archers where I think you have to time your auto attacks instead of just holding them down.

Best way to animation cancel as archer is to use mouse mode, hold down left click on enemy while moving with WASD.

Oh ya, i forgot, archer need to spam the Z key, not holding the attack key.
With dagger i can just hold it and move key.

I can’t test to confirm right now but I played a highlander a bit and you do attack much faster with animation canceling at least when not hitting an enemy.

What I did was Hold down Z and then used my mouse to move (holding left click and dragging my mouse around a bit)

Believe it or not, using mouse mode and holding left click to attack a target also has better attack speed than just using Z. My mouse has 2 macro keys and I set 1 button to replicate Z. I always compare the atk speed difference, holding left click gives me alot faster atk spd than holding Z.

I don’t have any fancy macro keybind ■■■■ but I think it’s pretty common knowledge that tapping the movement key or jumping right after a basic attack lets you act almost immediately. The rhythm is weird but it works wonderfully with rods.
