Hi @FatePGN, I’m just wondering…some said that skills damage numbers might be reworked after the wipe so that early classes’ skills can be equal with higher ranks’. So maybe, the damage of Stomping kick, Embowel, Giant Swing, etc, have been adjusted? Or are they still the same? Thanks for laying out the information!
Embowel, Stomping kick are the same. Sadly I only tested up til Barbarian C2 so I’m not sure about Giant Swing.

Seems like it only prevents knockbacks.
Fate, how did you test the stun interaction?
Pain Barrier should protect against stun, push and “fall” (w/e it is).
From my tests against monsters using PB and myself using it with my previous Warrior, I saw that:
-Freeze doesn’t count as stun, so PB doesn’t negate it.
-PB negates Sleep, whatever CC it is considered.
-Push is not the same mechanic as knock back. PB doesn’t negate knock back.
-PB doesn’t negate knock up.
-PG negates Telekinesis, whatever CC it is considered.
I tested pain barrier with a player, he had PB, and I used Barbarians helm chop, sadly it did not prevent stun.
It did not prevent stun previously either.
Also PB doesn’t negate Telekinesis, atleast not with players:
Woah, my mind is twirling in confusion now.

I have seen a PVP footage (before the wipe) showing a QS who did Stone Shot to a Swordman. It did not knockback. He did it to Archers and Mages, there were knockbacks. I used to think that the Swordman was not getting knockback because of the PB. Well… What can be considered a “push” if knockback is not considered one?
-
I used to believe that “fall” is knockdown. But you have tested that PB does not negate knock up/knock down, haven’t you? Or is knock up a different thing compared to knock down?
And @FatePGN, by “I tested pain barrier with a player, he had PB, and I used Barbarians helm chop, sadly it did not stun.”…do you mean “it did not prevent stun”?
Yup your right! Edited it
Good info, time to play the simulator again
Haven’t been in the forums for awhile. Looking at these changes, I wanted to ask several things:
- Does DEX a mandatory now since now Swordsman are adjusted from AA oriented to active offensive skill user? Is pure STR a thing after the changes?
- Someone posted earlier that Corsair’s and Barb’s skills are on par with each other. Unless I understood it wrong, can someone to explain it more thoroughly for me? From what I see, Barb’s skillset is way more stronger than Corsair’s new offensive skills, which is a bummer since Corsair is a rank 5 class.
- Does Highlander C3 worth it? I mean, it has lots of offensive skills. The more the merrier, right?
Hmm, I had no ways to test it before. Seems like PB description is as misleading as Fire Wall’s one.
Well, I am sure it negated against monsters. Tested on Tauros and only could grab them with the buff off. They either differ from player’s PB or it got changed (will test again when my Wiz gets to face those monsters again, I am still lvl 69… xD)
But I hope they keep it like this, complete body displacement/control has nothing to do with “pain”, lol.

What can be considered a “push” if knockback is not considered one?
Push is making someone “steps back”, like Energy Bolt, Gust and Heavy Shot.
Idk if knock up and back are considered different forms of CC, but low level bosses (20-ish) could knock my Warrior around while using PB. My Wiz’s Earthquacke could also knock monsters up.
This way I have no idea what “fall” is meant to be.
IMO, Pain Barrier should be reworked to be consistent with its name. Ignoring Pain could be related to damage reduction + flinch and stun negation.
Or make something completely new that negates any kind of CC, but has really short duration (since PB can have 30s duration with only 39s cooldown now, that would be too strong)

DEX is not very useful for swordsman. CON is OP, and STR offers much more damage than DEX can for anyone. However DEX acts as more of a supplementary stat now for accuracy in PvP and more crit rate.
-
Corsair has lower base damage per skill, but has high damage because of the amount of hit’s each skill does. I would put them on par with Barb if not higher.
-
Totally depends on you, the offensive skills are pretty good.
I always read the words “stun” and “faint” in skills’ description. There’s no standard or stun and faint are two different status like “knock back” and “push” as @Satoru said?
According to Seism skill “translation”: [Physics] [Slash]
To stop the attacks of the enemy attack to shake the earth. You can fall into a low probability to stun.
So, Pain Barrier will not help about this self-stun D:
Seism actually stuns targets and not yourself
It’s a pretty nice skill, and worth going Barb C2/3 for.
Sadly pain barrier is still mostly useless and does not prevent stuns.
so, pain barrier works only with knock backs
Wow! Now I agree with the topic’s title. Do you have any information about Vertical Slash (Highlander’s skill)?
Also PB doesn’t negate Telekinesis, atleast not with players:
I tested now on Tamas and they were grabbable and could put them to sleep too!
Probably both were a bug before and they fixed it.
It protects from pushes. They can still be thrown away with Earthquacke (if not a large sized enemy, since they are immune by default).
2 charges, 1 hit per use, no attributes to make it appealing. Trash.
I think it’s too early for me to choose between Highlander C3 or Barbarian C3 or a Hybrid way
The new three Barbarian’s skills haven’t the Enhance attribute yet?
Yes all 3 do have the 1% per level enhancement attribute.
Uhhh no more aggressor on barbarian’s skill tree… damn…
New skill “Cleave” increase 50% Cri rate?
