Ban the high trade

If you can’t control the bots, control the market !
Ban all players that put a high price for a trash item!
Always look the market ! You can’t only ban the bots… You Must ban The Players !
BOT IS WINNING!

I hope that is sarcasm. Because that is the worst idea ever.

nope, they are sellling =)
They’re winning cash =)

look the market and you ll see a trash item for 111111k =)

And… this is a free to play game …
ban the players is normal =) VAC BAN TO ALL

That won’t work. It’s just punishing regular players and it won’t solve the problem of bots. For example, how do you take advantage of low supply and make silver by selling high? And how do you, as a legit player, give a lot of silver to your friends? Not all of those high prices are bots, and a blanket ban is just going to slap a lot of innocent people in the face.

At the end of the day, IMC are working on other methods to deal with the bots, so we’re going to have to just deal with it. There are no overnight fixes for this sort of thing or bots wouldn’t be a problem in every MMO.

This, you ban the players buying silver and you know what happens? They make a new account and buy more.

This is the kind of radical thinking you encourage when you attempt to control fine aspects of a market and encourage people to turn on each other to “find the bots”.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it,
people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained
only for such time as the State can shield the people from the
political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie.”

Let’s see how long the shield lasts.

This is the worst idea ever, how about people transfer silver to their friends, or alts?

It’s a normal mmorpg practice to ban people who buy silver, every mmo does it. I’d be wary of just banning for posting at high prices though, you’d still want to investigate. After all, maybe they’re just trying to transfer some silver between alts.

@thebloodyaugust I wouldn’t be too concerned about that. Ideally you do want them to come back, but with the knowledge that buying silver will take away all the time they spent leveling and any real money they spent in the cash shop. You’ll be a lot less likely to buy silver if you’re a R7 and you know that you could lose that character for doing so.

Thats not how if works if you ban them they won’t come back and not buy silver. The first thing they’ll do is buy silver and make sure it sticks then play.

Buying it early just makes it that much easier to find. There aren’t many freshly made characters who enter klapeida with a 1 million silver.

i think your putting to much faith in IMC more people get away with this then u think.

What if i think that selling stack of 100 jukopus leaves for 1000 silver each is a fair price?

Some people get away with real world crimes, doesn’t mean you stop trying to catch others. Whether they can get everyone depends on the types of logs they have collecting data. Even if they can’t catch everyone you still ban the ones you do catch. I don’t get why you can’t see this, it’s as though you’re trying to promote silver buying (or perhaps have partaken in it yourself). That last bit was mostly in jest, but your attitude on this matter is troubling.

Your attitude is that IMC has all these features that helps them catch all these sellers / buyers and players are commonly banned for it.

Im just pointing out the reality is they and other mmos catch a small % and the players that get banned usually get temporary bans and are allowed to return, and if they do get a hard ban (rare) there are other ways to come back.

There is no discussion if there is only one side right?

Haven’t we been punished enough?

Bots are bad, yes;but I’m tired of being imprisoned as a player because of the threat of them. The methods being used currently aren’t even working, and something like this would just be the last straw for probably a decent amount of players.

Dud are from china or any athere dark place ?
You want to ban people becouse they sell on the market? Hope you get baned like this.

But there are some. Anyone who was just transferring their silver from 1 account to another would get labelled a gold-seller and banned.

I’m fairly confident they have logs showing who’s traded what, that’s why they have the 48 hour window before you can claim silver and why they want to put items traded on hold for 48 hours as well. So I can safely say they have the ability to determine who has likely bought silver or if it’s just a trade among players.

As to the amount of people banned, even a small sliver has an affect on silver buying, after all maybe the one they do catch is you (a hypothetical person, not actually you). The duration is really just up to the devs, however long they feel discourges buying silver.

It’s one thing to play devil’s advocate, but to completely discourage any action seems a bit much. If they do nothing then people will absolutely buy silver as there’s no risk involved.
