Class and Rank Swordsman

Hi everyone, I stopped playing ToS in April 2016 and I just wanted to have some news about this game.
Actually i’m lvl 217: S1->Peltasta1->Hoplite2->Corsair2
-Is this game still swordman-unfriendly?
-I’m a solo player, is there any place where I can grind without getting rekt?
-My stats are like : ~ 300 str , 120 dex , 60 con , where should I put my future points ?

  • I wanted to be dragoon , but I don’t know anymore … Should I go shinobi ( I heard it’s hard to become one) or should I follow my dreams and go Dragoon C2?
    From now what path should I Take and Why ?
  • Corsair 2 - > Dragoon 2
  • Corsair 2 - > Shinobi 1 - > Dragoon 1
  • Corsair 2 - > Your suggestions?

I have a Brandish and Karacha dagger don’t know if it’s still strong

The new Dragoon C2 Serpentine attribute looks pretty awesome. That and hexen dropper “should” be amazing assuming you got the right crit rate. Also dethrone looks pretty sweet, i vote dragoonC2.

I think swordsman still have more or less the same issues thus far: Extremely specific pvp builds, mostly called for taunting in pve, and monsters hit like a truck. The good news is, at least on my server, alchemist condensed potions are a lot cheaper. Also, R8 hasn’t been released in iTOS yet so who knows how and if that will change the overall swordsman image.

Dragoon 2 is a huge improvement over Dragoon1. Definitely go Dragoon2.

I’d take that to corsair 3 (as crappy as it is) and max jolly roger to farm and get rich of mats

Rare mats drop very often with the max jolly roger (such as vernier recipe)

Use the silver you get to fuel another alt

hop2-x-goon2 is a winner IMO. Brandish + Karacha is still strong.

I have only played swordie and it’s not that bad lol Multipurpose cata3 I’ve started to grind alemeth solo, but I mostly use Rush to kill big mobs. Around that level, I don’t see any other grind spots, but since you have a rank in pelta you can get a party fairly easily anyway.

Follow your dreams and go Dragoon2. Shinobi will just bring you frustration from all the bugs and ridiculous job quest. Dragoon2 is looking really strong atm so I think you’ll be satisfied.

As for stats, rank 8 makes a good case for DEX heavy builds for the crits so it wouldn’t be a terrible idea if you put all your points from now until 330 into DEX. If your crit rate still seems lacking later on, there’s a good chance they’ll be giving out stat reset potions again with events so you can change to higher even DEX.

Its just an alternative. Corsair 3s make a LOT of money and silver means a lot in this game

As what a lot of people have previously commented, go Goon2. It’s not as optimal as the hopdopel variant but you should be able to compensate that with proper gear, crit rate especially.

Besides the extra utility Corsair provides, your attack skills will benefit from Serpentine’s debuff as well. Heck, I think you can even be a WBer with that build and join TBL for fun!

Thanks everyone for your replies . I’ll try to go Dragoon 2 then, hoping that I can become useful one day and What does “WBer” stands for ?

True but he’ll be more than fine with Jolly Roger 10, without severely gimping his DPS at rank 8.

World bosser. Early signs are showing Dragoon2 to be amongst the very best for this.

Honestly you picked a good path. You’re always going to be useful for grind parties because of Pelt. You’re always going to be useful for farming because of Jolly Roger 10. Then you got Spear Lunge to boost your damage, and Dragoon2 will round that off with big damage. I smell a winner here.
