Auction house limitations

I know most people are worked up on the trading system in this game, but I feel the bigger issue at hand is the limitations of the auction house. Having only 1 item sold for free players and 5(or 10?) for premium members is quite a terrible decision.

The limitations hurt the game’s economy immensely as people just sell most of their items to an NPC. This creates a constant flow of silver being created which in turn can cause inflated prices in the end.

It also lessens the use of the auction house as there are less items available to purchase. Why sell crafting materials when they net so little profit compared to weapons? Those materials, as well as lesser valued items, will end up being sold to NPCs.

Storage space is quite limited so people aren’t going to just hold onto these to sell them on the AH over time. It’s just not worth it.

From my perspective, the limitations should be increased. Free players should have possibly 10 slots to sell items. Premium users should have 25 or more. This is a decent amount to give to everyone as people will have less worries about what they want to put up and what ends up getting sold to NPCs.

I thought players could open stalls and sell stuff? If that is still the case then F2P players can open up their stalls and sell from there.

Most likely a popular town will become the player shop area and it will slow the inflation issue caused by rich players and or bots playing the auction house and resetting prices. It will also encourage community.

Many players may not want to just stand all day trying to sell something, so I would suggest allowing players to set up a cart with a welcome sign saying what they are selling. This way the player can still quest or whatever while selling.

Having player shops builds community as players start to recognize your selling location, and start to take notice that you have a habit of selling things cheap. You can even gather loyal customers who place orders for stuff. This can’t happen when auction houses are involved because you can’t control who will get the item you placed there.

Auction houses make the whole shopping experience impersonal, so if they want to only give it to the few people tossing cash at the game then fine. But I see nothing wrong with encouraging players to be merchants.

You cant trade silver in any sort fo way except through market

What do you mean?

Are you saying if a person opens a shop with say item #1 cost 2 silver. If the player buys it from my stall I can’t get the silver?

I dont think you can do that in the AMerican version ive yet to see a single stall after 50 or 60 hours. All silver trading and token trading was removed in the CBT i think

I played in the CBT at the end of 2015 and the stalls worked.

Is there anyone who knows for sure if the stalls have been removed?

selling stalls were never a thing, but buy-in stalls worked fine in CBT but were removed as part of trade restriction scheme to “combat bots and RMTers”

What is the difference between selling stalls & buy-in stalls? I’m confused now. When I say stall it means just the place a player sets up to sell items instead of using AH.

Not sure how removing player selling fights against bots. I do see how removing trades prevents scams as it forces players to have to sell something to trade it.

Difference between them is that player sets up shop to buy items he needs instead of selling all the crap he doesnt.

Never heard of setting up a shop to buy something but ok. o.o Thanks for explaining.
