Attacks targeting dead enemies/objects

Bug Description :
All attacks and skills are capable of hitting an enemy’s corpse. This affects both single target AoEs and and attacks that persist after the initial attack such as my Archer’s Oblique shot (displayed in the gif) and my Hoplite’s Stabbing skill which is an attack lasts for several seconds. This affects many classes and is certainly not a minor issue.

Steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Choose 3 or more targets
  2. Kill 1 of the targets and continue to use a skill
  3. Observe as the dead enemy continues to get hit while the others are not affected

In the image, you can see that once the enemy is dead, oblique shot continues to target the enemy I just killed

ranger c3 bounce shots also tend to not target all of it’s supposed targets. i think similar problem applies. i offten shoot it into a group of 5-6 enemies and it ends up targeting 2 and a tree root.

Same issue with Krivis Divine Stigma.

Multi shot is also wasted on already dead enemies, making it deal way less damage than intended.

Stone shot also has this problem, as does Rapid fire.

this is a problem for all multi or random hit skills.

If Oblique Shot’s second hit always hit the enemy with the lowest current hp, and didn’t target traps, archer would be fixed.

In my experience it tries to hit “nearest” target first, even if its caltrops/traps or an already dead enemy (which is the problem in itself, not in oblique shot or any other skill) and that is fine. If they fix the dead monsters being a viable targets then the problem will be fixed. I dont mind it hitting traps or other targets - yay for quick clear boss traps.

Same for fireball of pyromancer (wasting 2 extra hits on enemy corpses) but I have seen a patch note from KR version which stated that they have fixed it for fireball (not sure for other skill).

Seems to affect my hoplite’s stabby stabby. Gonna update the report to global issue and not any class specific issue but an issue with dead bodies persisting after death and taking hits.

Let me summarize the problems raised in this thread.

So the attack skills that target multiple monsters sometimes target the position of the dead monsters, right?

I will report this issue to our dev team and try to fix it.
