Attack Speed of Mobs (and other interesting changes to make)

So, since we’re going to be getting an attack speed buff shortly. I was thinking about the attack speed of monsters in the field.

Isn’t it lacking variety? Everything pretty much attacks at the same speed.

Not only that, but mobs have a particularly huge wind-up time while they swing their weapon, a solid 1-2 seconds. It’s incredibly long.

I honestly feel like this contributes to a lot of the stale-ness people often discuss for travelling the game. Every physical monster is the same, huge easy to dodge wind-up. Every magical monster is the same. Every Archer is the same.

There are some that use different skills, like Spiral Arrow, stuns, freezes or sleeps. These are a little bit more interesting and I think most of the playerbase agree that these are some of the most memorable mobs in the game. Yes there is a bit of frustration there, but I think the memorable mobs are better than the completely unmemorable mobs.

So. Attack speed and some other monster changes perhaps? Just attack speed of many mobs changing to a variety of different speeds would make a lot of the game feel more interesting/different.

Other (polite) suggestions?

Game doesn’t even work like that
Monsters use a skill that’s basically an auto attack
Thats why they can’t attack in silence

Yeah. I am aware. The method they use to attack doesn’t matter too much though, reducing CD/windup on their skills has the same outcome of increasing the speed that they use their attacks.

Attack speed variance would be neat, it’d be a bit more interesting to have to adjust to different mob rhythms. It’d only be like, one of the ways to make mobs more interesting though, their overall AI should be improved tbh or stuff like this might just make things more of a pain and a chore.

i mean if i’m already getting whacked out of picking my Weed That Magically Vanishes After It Shanks Me And Knocks Me TF Out at the last like 0.00001 second of picking it getting slapped at 90 hits per minute might at least give me an excuse to actually get up and fight it
