At first was I was for class resets but now I am not

Ah, but you see the real intelligent players waste literally twice the time it would take to remake their character crying on the forums about how the game will die if they can’t get a reset.

Just don’t respond to that kid. He’s been proven repeatedly to be a liar and troll. Some people have wised up to literally just ignore everything he says. I suggest you do the same.

You are not even reaching half of the level cap and u say you can feel that your build can work or not? Really?! For current 280 level cap, you are just level100, 30% of current cap? Not to mention the full game level cap is level600. For current cap, you are just like level30~40 out of level99 in RO and you say you can feel the build works or not. Okay.jpg.

IMHO, they should have class resets, but they should just make it impossible to choose alchemist, pardoner, or squire if you class reset. (especially in the case of pardoner, where different pardoner builds sell different scrolls and there’d be all sorts of stupidity if you could class change to pardoner)

For everything else, IMHO, it’s not worth punishing a player so harshly just because they made a slip up in choosing a combat class. There’s nothing for the game economy to gain from it other than wrath for wrath’s sake.

Also, money. IMC can get money by selling class resets. And they likely need it cause there sure as heck aren’t many other sources of money for this game to survive on.

…just no class switching to alchemist, pardoner, or squire.

They can (and do)also make money by selling character slots. They would lose out on that though.

…and this is where things get stupid. Everyone has their own little restrictions that get more and more complicated that more and more people disagree with.
Sure, you can’t switch to alchemist, pardoner or squire. What about templar? What about starting as those classes and switching away from them? You end up with resets only available in very specific situations that people will still cry about anyways, so there’s no point.

Oh right, restrict Templar too.

They won’t make much more money from selling character slots. Most people can/will just delete the trash characters to make room for a new character rather than buy a new slot for a new character.

Yes I am saying that. You should be able to feel out if the build is
working for you as your character progresses in levels. If, by chance,
the build seems to be working okay then suddenly level 230+ the build is
COMPLETELY invalidated by the end game content, yet it was working
great before then, I argue that it’s not a player class strategy issue
but more of a game balancement issue.

This is literally nothing but an assumption with no factual basis. Also, there is no such thing as a ‘trash’ character. People just want to be optimal though without putting any effort into figuring out what is optimal before making their character. It comes down to laziness and entitlement at the end of the day.

Tbqh I theorize class resets would help more people who know what they’re doing than people who messed up their builds for not being experienced enough. I mean, an item with such function would be rather expensive, and many people would rather remake their characters than buying them, specially if they are not used to spending real money - which fits pretty much in the profile of those who fail pretty bad their class paths, or they would just not have enough silver to buy them because of their messed up build.

In other hand, we have the people with a little more expertise, who are committed to the game in a way they don’t mind spending money or can farm silver on their own. They would be able to chose a full-PVE build focused on leveling or farming, get level cap and then resetting to a better (but weaker/slower PVE-wise) build, and those would pretty much kill supportive classes until end-game. For example you can make a comparison between Wizard DPS and support classes on how fast they can level. (i would do it, btw, I’ve always dreamed of a linker2/chrono3)

My opinion… like really… please dont give a class reset. I gonna hate this game so much if they give class reset. As a wizard player, everyone should know support are most demanded in end game but the leveling is a pain as you have not enough dps unless you have a friend to help you. Yes, I am pointing to cyro3. But in the end they get pay off once they hit rank 6 or 7. I dont want to see everyone go for pyro for easy leveling then end game switch to cyro. When this thought come to my mind I feel like its stupid to have class reset in this game.

By the way its too hard to implement it into the game anyway if just to change a rank to another since there are 3 circles each classes. Unless its a FULL class reset, which is ridiculous as I mentioned above.

So was the post I was replying to saying people will buy character slots for it in the first place. So that cancels out.

IMC would know better if sales would come from there. They have the metrics. So I’ll leave that aspect up to them to decide on. I find it rather doubtful myself though. Heck, character slot sales, even if they DO occur, aren’t expensive enough to make IMC make that much money.

That is indeed also an assumption; I won’t argue that. The difference is in the sheer likelihood. If people make fewer characters, they will sell less character slots. Now, of course, that is merely an assumption. Perhaps every single user will stop at 4 characters. I can’t deny that possibility, no matter how slim it will be.

It’s an assumption that I won’t be hit by an airplane in the next 5 minutes and that the sun won’t explode. Given basic logic, though, it seems fairly likely. You have to make SOME assumptions based on probability. Almost everything is an assumption based on astronomically high probability if you really want to be picky.

You know, the people that think they’re special and superior for not wanting class resets in the game almost make me want class resets ahaha.

Still don’t see the harm in single circle resets that bar all utility classes and require some consequence like regrinding. Still don’t see circle resets ever being implemented in the game, and still completely baffled as to how people are still making threads about it.

uhh ye. Also, while I do understand why support classes would feel cheated, I don’t understand the mentality. I went uhh 177? levels with nothing but energy bolt leveling a linkchrono and it honestly doesn’t seem like a big deal if other people got a tweak. The only qualm I have about circle resets is that I feel like they’re super intrusive to the game and step on its design direction.

Question: If I am a Templar then use class reset. Will my guild disband if I pick a different class?

Honestly I’d be for circle resets if stat’s actually varied between builds - but they don’t.

Right now if you gear up a wizard and if there were circle resets you could play every possible build with no restrictions.

In other games at least when there are different specializations within classes you would have to gear appropriately in order to be effective. It’s not simply switch specs and have fun gg you’re all set.

A game that allows you trade almost any item between your characters, is not something I would call alt-unfriendly.

If you want to talk about an alt-unfriendly game, try FFXIV:ARR.
You cannot trade anything between characters there, without using an intermediary.

That’s silly, and not true. The build gets good as soon as you hit Wiz3. Anything after that just makes it easier.

Fletcher gets good as soon as you get 1. Then it gets better with each circle.

I could go on about the rest, but I think you got my point.
There’s definately builds out there that take a long time to figure out if they work well, but the cookie cutter builds you mention or none of them.

There’s only a handful of multiplier abilities in the game. They are essentially all wizard or archer. Interestingly enough they are mostly in these cookie cutter builds.

So to me it seems those abilities are at fault here.

One of the reasons I would agree for a circle reset is not solely based on skills (which they already lack description), it is the combination between classes. I am inclined to compare this to a card game. There are a lot of combination that you can do and little tweaks can bring out the best build that you are comfortable with.

Should I go for Linker or a Sorc when I already have Cryo for CC? or How viable is Cryo3>Ele3>RC? Lots of theorycrafting even if skills description are given to you. You just have to experience it before you can say yay or nay. And for that to happen, you need to reach rank 6-7 and that’s a lot of time investment to see if it is good for you. Not everyone wants a meta build.

That’s funny, I’ve lost count of all the elementalists I had to carry when I was still playing. Funnier yet, those same elementalists are the first ones to complain about how average their other skills are compared to Frost Cloud.

It might be “good” but I’ve seen better pyromancers than rank 4/5 elementalists.

Two words: Magic Arrow (rank 6 skill if you’re unaware of it).
And yeah, it gets better with each circle. So good in fact, people are willing to sacrifice rank 7 classes for fletcher C3.

If you can’t refute my claims, do yourself a favour and don’t bring them up.

Maybe, maybe not. It could either be fixed by buffing other classes, or nerfing those classes and giving monsters less HP.
Right now, people are aiming for these few classes capable of dealing the most damage because monsters are damage sponges.

After seeing gameplay footage of a dragoon using pretty much all of his skills to kill a handful of endgame (but common) monsters, I really don’t blame people for wanting to go musketeer/cannoneer or whatever classes that use multipliers/percentages based skills.
